The Hot Spot (1990)
Hot Spot/ Hot Film
This film has received some so-so reviews however I recommend it highly. It has an all star cast with Don Johnson, Jennifer Connelly and Virginia Madsen. There are many other faces you will recognize in the film. It is quirky just like the director Dennis Hopper. Lots of twists and turns and plenty of sex. Virginia Madsen and Jennifer Connelly nude scenes are worth the watch alone. It is a good story complete with Don Johnson snappy one liners and him at his height of cool. This was made during the Miami Vice days. Don Johnson is a drifter who blows into town and gets a job at a used car lot. Soon there are tales of romance, lust, crime, murder and robbery that are woven together in a manner that makes sense. It is a very entertaining film. The scenery of the locations are great too. I dig the film so much that I bought it. Cool classic cars in it too.
The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976)
An All Time Great Western
This film is one of my all time personal favorites and it is my favorite all time western picture. The characters are perfectly cast especially Chief Dan George as Lone Watie. There is humor as well as drama and action. There are subtle aspects to the film such as the main character's progression in areas I will not mention as to not spoil it. This is certainly a subject to keep in mind when viewing. Lots of cool characters such as country singer Sheb Wooley and Les Lesser who later went on to play Uncle Leo in "Seinfeld." The scenery is fantastic in the locations. Another point is the accuracy of the feelings of the southerners in dealing with Northern occupation during the Civil War. Guerilla fighters were prominent on both sides and this is well depicted in the movie. There are many nuances such as authenticity to costumes, speech and the locations that make the film believable.
Cloud Atlas (2012)
3 hours of your life you will never get back
I rented this trash from redbox and spent over 3 hours watching it. I tried to quit it but I had so much time invested. I kept waiting for it to make sense. It never did and I want my buck 27 back for my time. Tom Hanks, you owe me a buck 50. Movie and gas money. I cannot believe you took this piece of crud movie. You have all the money in the world. Why? This sucks so bad I know I can get into the novel writing and screen play business. The film jumps and jitters and I felt like I needed drugs to make it interesting but there is not enough weed in Kentucky to make this more tolerable. I cannot believe this was ever produced. I know I can make it in life since suckers like me paid good money to watch this junk. Oh is there no relief for me after watching this no account, good for nothing film. I try to write my ten lines granny but this is just making me too sick.
The Andy Griffith Show: Citizen's Arrest (1963)
One of the all-time best episodes
This was a great episode....number 11 in season 4. Anyway, it is classic just because Gomer tells Barney to ,"run up an alley and holler fish....there I said it and I ain't taking it back!" This one is titled "Citizens Arrest" and well worth the watch! 2 thumbs up, ya'll!!!! I don't want to give too much away but this is great inner play between Gomer and Barney. These two clowns always made me laugh and I get a laugh every time I view it. Great classic black and white film. Andy gets involved to make things right as usual. Good ole dumb witted Gomer finally gets it over on big daddy lawman Barney. Tell ya what, the world would be a much better place if everybody watched "Andy" at least once a day! Best of luck to you and yours. My cousin Goober has a boat that goes 35.....and that's fast on water!
