The Poison Rose (2019)

Just bad... so bad

It had so much promise with an all star line up then just sank... its predictable, slow and the music that tries to build tension leaves much to be desired. If you want to do a film noir in 2019, you need to modernize slightly.. its a different target audience nowadays.

Great modern adaptation

So I studied this film as part of an English Language course I did where we studied the original Shakespeare first then watched and compared to the flick. I think it's absolutely amazing how Bad has turned something so archaic into a modern update of the play. Yes, it's a little whacky but then isn't that to be expected from a Shakespeare script? I think it's been severely under rated so far because I think if I didn't know the original, I'd think it was off too. My advice would be do a little homework... Read the original then watch this version and fall in love

I think this is a film for people who enjoy actually watching films rather that picking apart themes, time periods and futuristic gadgets. Just sit back and enjoy it. It's a slow paced film but has some great side plots to keep you interested.

I think the low reviews are way too harsh.
