Asteroid City (2023)
It's Gorgeous, I'm Just A Little Confused
I'm a huge Wes Anderson fan, from The Grand Budapest Hotel to his small cameo in the Sing movies. Looking at this film and hearing the dialogue brought me back into the pastel world Wes Anderson creates and I loved almost every second of it... almost.
Near the very end we see the main actors of the film in an acting class trying to be asleep together, when our leading man stands up and says "You can't wake up if you don't fall asleep." This then causes the actors to slowly start joining in with the chant. They start chanting it at the audience while the Alien we met before starts walking towards the audience. Then the scene ends and we go on with the show.
Now it's not that it wasn't any good, and it's probably trying to teach me a lesson of some kind, it just kind of felt out of place. In a movie about a play (Asteroid City) and cut scenes showing the performers, writers, and directors bring the play to life, the chanting just didn't fit.
But it's still a beautiful film with the Wes Anderson charm that is stunning to watch and I'm so happy I saw it! 7/10, well done!
tick, tick...BOOM! (2021)
That is what a movie Musical should be like!
After watching Dear Evan Hansen and bring disappointed, I wasn't planning on watching Tick Tick Boom. I ending up watching it on accident and I loved it!!! I'm proud to say that I'm a theater nerd the loves RENT with every fiber of my being! I love Jonathan Larson and I love how Lin told his story with his musical. Andrew Garfield's performance was breathtaking and tear jerking. I once again have faith in future movie musicals!
What If...?: What If... Captain Carter Were the First Avenger? (2021)
Not a good start
I have nothing to say except that the first episode was REALLY hard to watch. They took the dancing thing that Peggy and Steve mentioned probably once or twice in the movie and then made it that every time they saw each other in the show they had to bring up dancing. Like, WHY? The only good thing was that the fight scenes were more historically accurate. "Break those guys sculls, Peggy!" -something I did say while watching.
Flipped (2010)
A gift for the few who know about it
It was a beautiful story that shows a cute love story. The conflict didn't feel forced, the chemistry wasn't fake, and the story was almost just like the book. I love this movie but it might not fit the older people.
High School Musical: The Musical - The Series: Second Chances (2021)
What in heaven's name was that?
Only good part, the song. It was a horrible way to end the show. The fact that they end with so many cliff hangers is worse then all of the endings in Lord of the Rings. I hate this ending and I hate the show. Do something original Disney. Also, as a theater (prepare to be annoyed out of your wits) this show is like 1 million percent insulting to my kind. We don't do that, we are not borderline gods!
Luca (2021)
You've done it again PIXAR
After Soul I was a tad bit scared that this movie would be a disaster. And not going to lie, it is a mix of the Little Mermaid and Call Me By Your Name, but once the story got going I was loving every second. This is a story about friendship and how you always want to think that your friends will always will be there for you but sometimes, they're not. There is family drama, friendship problems, and the fear of showing your true self in a disapproving world. I live Luca and Alberto's friendship and I literally cried at the end (can't say I cried in Soul). I recommend this movie and watch it with your friends, it's a movie about friends so... yeah.
WolfWalkers (2020)
WAY better than Soul
I have no words, it was just so good. The animation was unique and incredible, the story was tear jerking, I was sobbing by the end of the film. I cannot get over how amazing it was!
Soul (2020)
Onward was WAY better
I hate watching the Oscars because they never chose what I want to win. I know that sounds stupid but it's true. The biggest disappointment of the night was Best Animated Film. The way Wolf Walkers was animated was amazing and captivating and Onwards story was tear jerking while Soul didn't know what if was doing in the second half and the real amazing thing is that they found ways to pad the run time.
Murder on the Orient Express (2017)
I don't know what people are talking about
This movie did an amazing job taking the book and making it a movie. You can never expect a movie that is based off of a book to be perfect, so hater that are mad because it wasn't 100% like the book, be quiet!
Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir (2015)
The Best Kids Show You Will Ever See
It's one of those shows that you don't want to watch until you start to and you can't stop. I was just going through Netflix when I cane upon this show. It's a perfect example of don't judge a book by its cover, it's so much more than just Ladybug and Chat Noir.
It has parent problems, bad guys for the wrong reasons, a main love square but so many more ships beyond that, friendship drama, and so much more. I wish everyone would get over the first season and move on to the masterpieces that the other seasons are.
I love this show with everything in me, Adrain is perfect, Luka is amazing, Chloe has a beautiful character arc, etc. You will always feel something while watching it and I recommend it to everyone.
