Garfield: The Movie (2004)
Absolutely terrible
To call this movie a waste of time would be an understatement. I have not been more disappointed with a film more than 2004's Garfield. It is an absolute waste of man hours and work, and I feel bad for whoever was forced to work on this abysmal movie. When I first saw the titular character, Garfield, I was absolutely shocked and appalled at how the film had so poorly portrayed the character. First and foremost, the personality of Garfield in this film is completely off, it's as if they did absolutely no research before shooting the movie. It is absolutely ridiculous how inaccurate this movie is and it boggles my mind how the directors thought that this would pass for a good film. The design of Garfield is absolutely atrocious, I cannot, to any length, imagine why they decided to make Andrew Garfield an orange talking cgi cat played by Bill Murray. When I first turned on this film, all I wanted was to learn about how Garfield had managed to star in such fantastic films such as "Under the Silver Lake" and "The Amazing Spider Man 2", but this film provided no context or background to the actor and I am completely and utterly disappointed in this film, and I am sorry to Mr. Garfield that his name is attached to such a shameless product. I hope you get a better biopic one day Andy.
Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties (2006)
Double the Garfield - DOUBLE THE FUN!!!
Garfield is a funny cat. This movie fre*king rules, an absolute wonder of a movie! Haha, move over Citizen Kane, cause here comes Garfield! I love this cg orange cat. Haha, Bill Murray, you da man OR cat if you will!! I give this movie two paws up haha, I'm just kidding, two paws up? That is ridiculous and not a valid scoring system! No but seriously, this movie is an absolute masterpiece. 10 out of 10!
Dunston Checks In (1996)
Pure Perfection
Dunston Checks In is nothing short of a masterpiece. The film is so dense with layers upon layers of meaning, so finely crafted and worked into the movie. The film's message is greatly abstract, but still somehow manages to stray away from being pretentious. The plot presents many complicated issues, and handles them with great care, making viewers question their own morals. The film is not afraid to present tough subject matters, and shows them in a light that perfectly indicates what the film is trying to say without trying to pander to a certain demographic, yet staying on the gray line. The film's acting is glorious, with an outstanding performance by Jason Alexander. Alexander absolutely pushes boundaries and shows the peak of his performance in an overwhelmingly powerful scene, where his character breaks down on the verge of tears. The cinematography is absolutely stunning, each shot has so much meaning, and without even saying a single word perfectly sets the tone communicates what is happening in the scene. It is difficult to put into words how magnificent this film is, so I highly recommend this film to those who have yet to see it. In short, this movie is a masterpiece. also the monkey is funny.
