Baby Reindeer (2024)
A must see...
I was won over after only 20 minutes. The rest has become twisted... and more and more intense in twists and turns. All the episodes were written and made by a master's hand.
This is the story of an ordinary guy who has the misfortune to be nice to a very fat woman sitting at the bar. The girl immediately perceives it as sexual advances. She becomes more and more obsessive in the life of this guy, harasses him, follows him everywhere... and she becomes threatening. He doesn't know how to get rid of this psychopath even if it is clear that he no longer wants to see her. But I quickly understood the dismay of the guy in his lost feelings and his dark relationships with others... and with Martha.
After several months of harassment, the guy decides to file a complaint to the police because he fears for his life, but they don't take his complaints seriously because he is a man. He and his loved ones are left to themselves in the face of this toxic situation. It's the world upside down.
Does this similar situation exist in real life? Yes!
This series seriously deserves to be seen.
El caso Asunta (2024)
Cold monster parents...
I loved to hate the judge character from the start because he is very bias. A judge is supposed to be totally impartial... and he was not. And how can a judge be part of the investigation with the police?
All of the actors are very credible in their acting. This series is an almost non-stop thriller where the truth comes out near the end. I just loved the story... but I'm also very sorry for this little girl who was adopted by those monster cold foster-parents.
And how can parents (foster or biological) be so cold liars during their interrogation and during the whole time?
They deserve to rot in hell!
The Ninth Gate (1999)
A must see. A MUST !
Johnny Depp is excellent in this role. We don't care about certain comments that say that Corso (Depp) smokes or does not wear gloves while he consults these rare books. This is is movie... not an absolute reality! Even the master twins were smoking and with no gloves. Who cares in that movie. Okay. That would not be so in reality.
The film was directed by a master's hand with first class actors. We must also give this movie the praise for the excellence of its script, the suspense, the story, the soundtrack, the staging, special effets, etc.
This is a film that deserves to be seen despite these small flaws... and there are no boring lengths throughout this film.
Once Upon a Time in America (1984)
Not a masterpiece... but worth to watch !!!
It's a long movie as Sergio Leone knows how to make them interesting for the audience. It is certainly a very good movie to watch and to enjoy... but not for the weak people. Yes, it has hard scenes of rape, bloody murders, etc... but the audience must remember that it depicts this time of years.
And I hate those comments that tell you how you should react and feel on a movie : 'Don't bother ; Don't loose your time ; Overrated ; Those who love it are idiots ; etc.
Hey people... please respect others that loved it.
Once Upon a Time in America is not a masterpiece... but it's certainy worth to watch it for the superb Director (Leone), excellent acting from all actors with a good vibe between them all, good story (good, bad and horrible moments), a lifelong story, the music is alla Sergio Leone style (which is superb for the story).
The story is shocking, amazing, happy young lives with brats, the harsh of living in NY at the time, the unjustice and plenty of strong emotional moments. It's always emotional in a movie when the director can move back in time in ones character's life back and forth.
This is a 40 years old movie (1984). For those who never watched it, be my guess... and watch it.
The Watcher (2022)
Itense mystery...
I watched this one back to back in a day. Couldn't stop wondering what was going to happen next. Full of suspense and mystery. Directors made a great jog, the scrip is perfect... even thou the story is a bit far fetched. The cast and mostly Noamie Watts are just great and credible in their characters. Many actors are well kow in the industry. Each character has its own creepiness played brillantly... and you come to suspect anyone and everyone to be The Watcher until the end.
There are rarely slow action or boring sequences. Netflix made another rare serie that is really good to watch. It's even a MUST.
Can't wait for Season 2.
Wielka woda (2022)
Great and well mastered...
This is one of Netflix's rare masterpieces. Zulewska is particularly brilliant in her role that she plays to perfection... just like the whole casting. This true story is told in a thrilling, moving and stressful way. The fast script keeps us constantly on the alert... and I found no boredom by unnecessary scenes except perhaps during the last episode. In addition, we like to hate some of the characters.
I also loved how the team was able to reproduce authenticity of the time.
Like a book that you can't stop reading... I watched the six episodes back-to-back on a Sunday.
The Director mastered this serie.
The Sisterhood (2019)
Conquered and receptive
For a low-budget TV movie, I was won over by the story, the constant suspence, the script and by the credible actors well directed by the director. It's not perfect... but I loved it from beginning to end.
Hereditary (2018)
A bit far fetch...
A little too exaggerated in fantasy and darkness... but I was won over by the original story, by the script, the Art Director and the Director. The actors are very credible and very well directed. I only regret that almost half of the movie is filmed in the dark. Worth to watch!
You Don't Know Me (2021)
Nice and interesting to watch...
It is a well -crafted and intelligent story. There are sometimes lengths... but I liked knowing the rest until the end... and it's worth it. It is unlikely that a criminal accused can defend himself as in this story... but I found it original. The actors are credible and well directed. I give a 9/10 to the first as well as to the last episode. I give a 7/10 to this series.
Safe (2018)
Michael C. Hall must have needed money...
I'm not one of those who will tell you that you are stupid by giving it a 10. I hate those who comment "Don't watch it" and/or that a movie or a TV series is a waste of time and/or money. One opinion is as good as the other... and let's just respect everyone's opinion without insulting those who differ from your opinion. I love oysters... and you might hate them. So what !
My opinion with 'Safe' : I'm guessing Michael C. Hall needed money to do this TV series. I hated his phony British accent even thou he did a great acting job. The rest of the cast was just okay. The story had a good potential... but it was ruined with a bad script and bad directors.
Broadchurch (2013)
On the edge of my seat...
(Please excuse my English... I'm French from Quebec)
There's a good suspense about the whole story. In this small town where a murder of a kid has been commited, it was captivating to know that eveyone one could be the suspect. As the story goes on, more surprises kept me on the edge of my seat as I was angry of the outgoings of the justice system. I just wanted to scream out loud for some injustice... and I loved it.
In my opinion, it is one of the best TV series that exists for its original story. All the actors are very credible and very well directed. All Directors Departments have made an exceptional work. This is the third time that I'm seeing it... and always with interest.
