Devil's Workshop (2022)
Keep looking for something else to watch.
Stop and rethink waisting your time on this movie. The trailer is much better then the film. Radha Mitchell & the poor man's Jack Black ,Emile Hirsch are very talented actors but have nothing to work with.
The plot looks to be made up by the actors as they go. I am old school and need to have more of a story to work with or lots of action and gore to make up for lack of plot, but we have neither. Lionsgate is behind this garbage? Take a look at that great poster shot of the girl and the candles, this never happens and that girl is not in this film. Keep looking for something else to watch and I am sure you will be better satisfied.
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011)
Stop do not waist your cash on this trash.
Ghost rider must save boy from the Devil. First let me say I am a Nicolas Cage fan and I do not blame him for this abortion of a film. I blame the director and the writers of this pitiful excuse for a movie. If you pay full price plus the 3D charge you are in for a total rip off. I would pass on a $1.00 rental on this turd let alone the thought of paying for a blue ray copy. I fought myself not to see this pitiful movie and gave into some internet hype and radio plugs by Nick Cage but I should have went with my gut. There is no story here that is worth seeing, it is as if a 15 year old stoner came up with this plot while slamming Robitussin with his drop out buddies. This is the worst movie of 2012 so far and I pray it is the worst that I pay to see in the theater for the rest of the year. The Coup de grâce is Christopher Lambert, that alone should keep you away from this turd.
Crushed (2009)
Every mans nightmare..
Every mans nightmare, crazy girl who will do anything to get and keep her man. I see this as the Fatal Attraction meets any bloody torture porn and that's not a bad thing. I love the way this woman can get away with almost anything just by the mere fact that she is female. I think this is a great angle for a horror film and I for one felt pretty bad for Tara's new lover. Tara is the main character of the movie and is played by Natalie Dickinson who knocks her role out of the ball park. This is movie had me squirming and as a jaded horror fan this is not an easy thing to do. I like this movie and recommend it to the true gore hounds and horror movie buff but this is not for the average movie crowd in my mind.
Ghost Bird (2009)
Little hope for this awesome creature
I heard about this movie from MonsterTalk podcast, a great podcast about all types of unexplained stuff. When I finally got around to watching this great documentary I could not take my eyes off it and was really hoping they would find the elusive "Ghost Bird" (Ivory Billed Woodpecker), knowing that even if they did find a few that there was little hope for this awesome creature. Do see this movie as it shows how the world holds hope for such an unlikely miracle as an extinct bird to come back from the dead and all the things that go along with that. Let us get our priorities in order and not spend all our time chasing unicorns and take some of that energy and save the creatures that truly might be saved. If you love nature or are any sort of out doors person see this movie.
Cold Storage (2009)
Do not mess with those back wood inbreed mumble mouth Hillbillies.
Do not mess with those back wood inbreed mumble mouth Hillbillies, being out of touch with reality can mess up your social skills to say the least. Our main man Clive (Nick Searcy) is one out of touch and crazy boy and he has love on his mind. Nick Searcy who plays Clive is 100% convincing as a twisted redneck freak and had me squirming in my chair and thinking this is one nasty foul smelling odd ball. When a missing young lady's wimp of a boy friend and bad to the bone sister go looking for her they find Clive in all his sick glory and the fight is on. Good low budget movie with a group of fine actors make this worth a look, heck you will be planing your next vacation around Clive's Bed and Breakfast.
Devil's Playground (2010)
Zombie Pacur ?
Zombie Pacur ? New enhancement drugs unleash a zombie plague the likes of witch you have never seen. The zombies in this movie do run, jump, climb up walls, bust down doors and jump Through windows, but hay I love zombies and bought it hook line and sinker. I do like my zombies to move at a normal pace and not any faster then 28 Days for sure. I have read about zombie fans who have to have the slow shambling zombies but I go by the idea of a fit recently dead person should be able to movie as fast as a normal person but in my zombie world you can not do super human feats just because you change over to the living dead. The lead actor (Craig Fairbrass) who I have seen in other films is a great tough guy and is for sure the man I want on my side. Good cast and there struggle to survive kept me smiling as the body count rose. Some nice gore and the fast pace of flesh eating make it well worth a look in my mind.
Voodoo Lagoon (2006)
Do not waist one second of your time on this.
Do not waist one second of your time on this trash. Who writes this garbage ? This is such a poor plot I can not believe they wasted this much talent and money (OK so they did not waste much in those two areas) on such a movie. For a while I thought this must be one of those ultra lame made for TV flicks until I saw a flash of breast. The main bad guy is so lame and sad and would not scare anyone and when he is wearing the "Voodoo" mask I found my self giggling in disbelief. The cast are a bunch of wimps and can not fight back even to save there sorry lives. Why I even bother to write this review is to save your precious time and spare you the pain of this abortion called Voodoo Lagoon.
Altitude (2010)
Like Twilight Zone or Outer Limits
Good story and a good cast make this film worth a look. The "Monster" is a little weak but the director keep's the action moving right along. I kept waiting to see the monster and once I saw it I was disappointed, but the beast was not on screen much so I did not suffer long. I am not saying this is a great movie or should be high on the list to see I am just saying it is not bad. I do like the idea of being in a plane and being stuck with out a way down, pretty scary idea. The wimpy kid that is in love with the lead drove me mad with his lack of guts and inability to do anything to help the group out of there bad situation. Maybe if the "Monster was done by a better FX crew or had more money spent on it I would have liked the whole movie more. Give this movie a look if you are a fan of the Twilight Zone or Outer Limits.
Growth (2010)
Do not waste your time on this parasite.
This is a poor plot if I ever saw one. The parasites look good for the most part and I had hopes the story could hold together but oh no. The story just falls flat and becomes a bunch of babel about pushing the human evolution up a few notches, sure, hit me up with some cool parasites doc. I want to be a super human, sounds great. Ian Patrick Williams is pretty creepy in his roll as Mason and really show me how bad old Richard Riehle is in his role as the man who may save the day. Now if your a Nora Kirkpatrick fan like I am you may have to see this flick. Nora has been in a bunch of TV shows and I think she really is the only resign to see this film. Christopher Shand is good in his roll as Justin and I look forward to seeing him in a good movie some day. But two or three good actors can not save a bad film in this case. Pass this turd right on by folks and if you must check it out don't say I didn't tell you so.
