People actually liked this movie?
14 October 2009
What was it? The very deep teenager like plot? The bad acting? The plastic feel of everything you see in the movie? The melodramatic direction of the music? That the bad people are very bad, and the good people are very good?

Seriously, this movie is full of clichés and a predictable plot. It looks to me that JJ Abrams applied his TV philosophy to film... and that really doesn't work.

I would have enjoyed this movie when I was 15.... I really can't understand why it has an 8 and how it can be on the 250 top list of IMDb.

The worst movie in a long time....
23 August 2009
Not only the plot and narrative is almost inexistent... characters are hollow video game clichés, the camera movements and photography is senseless, the music is some sort of melodramatic romantic mood that never matches the scenes, the English dubbing is not even professional (come on put some reverb), and the pace of the movie is made of video games scenes put together with the hope of creating movie. And it fails completely. Fight, dull dialogue, fight, dull dialogue, fight... you get the idea.

This is not even a movie. It's a long boring series of video game cinematics. And of course it will only appeal to FF gamers, or 12 year old kids.

Visually though the art direction is OK, but too much halos for my taste. That's why I gave it two stars.

good concept, bad execution...
12 April 2008
Although I really like the idea of the script and the whole atmosphere(art direction, music), the movie lacks IMO of depth in the execution.

¿Super powerful aliens using knifes because that fits with their nosferatu look? This is ridicule... Well I have to say that except for some dialogues, the aliens are plain dumb. This is the reason why they use knifes, and they get fooled in their own world.

¿An average of 1.8 seconds per shot to put more tension during the whole movie? There a lot of bad quality filler shots that take time from the really great shots and mess the rhythm of the movie.

This movie could have been great if the work had been more focused on the symbology, the literature, and not the visual gimmick. The same applies for the whole matrix trilogy IMO.
