The Matrix Resurrections (I) (2021)

Entertaining fluff

There are a few cool new technologies shown but no extra world building done. Instead there are some concepts from the first few that didn't really make the cut here at all, so they were ignored. It's characters you like having meek adventures, so it's entertaining enough. Meh.

They just decided to make another Matrix movie without digging in any more than they already had. So I'm left feeling like every Matrix movie is a bit worse than the one that came before.

I'm just done with the victimization of women. It's not entertaining. It's not scary in the 'oh ghosts are creepy, glad they're not real' kind of way. This movie clearly at the beginning included an unknown person, getting off on spying. It is too similar to what we actual women have experienced, I need not dedicate additional time and brain space to it. I cut it off after 20 mins and that's 20 mins I'll never get back.

These are really stupid "survivors"

Maybe you enjoy rolling your eyes and yelling at the screen. You need to ignore little things, like why don't they zip up their coats in the frozen tundra? Medium things like why doesn't the constant snow and wind cover their tracks? And big things like, that was a really obvious coup, you need to ask that dude more about these monsters before running off, and how many years have they been in this shelter without securing the entrance? Too stupid to live.
