Euphoria: Stand Still Like the Hummingbird (2022)
FINALLY a show that depicts addiction correctly.
Best episode of the entire series so far. Addicts will do anything and step over anyone to get to drugs. Especially the people they love the most. As an addict I have been Rue before. This episode is so raw and real and it took me right back to when I was at my bottom. The scene where Rue was in the bathtub and the camera was focused on the morphine was outstanding. I'm so glad they told the story this way and I really hope it makes kids think twice before touching drugs. The cinematography is like no other show I've ever seen. Brilliant as always.
Naked and Afraid of Love (2021)
Of course it's not like the original
People are complaining that it's not like the original Naked and Afraid. Of course it's not!! It's a completely different show where the top priority is to find love while surviving in the wild. It's not as intense as the original, and it's not supposed to be. If you don't like reality shows based on finding love, THEN DON'T WATCH IT. It's not rocket science. It's a show about naked people finding love and I'm here for it.
Clickbait (2021)
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A SHOW LIKE THIS
I have watched predictable show after predictable show and I was so tired of it. I love shows that keep me on the edge of my seat and surprise me. This show is exactly that and much more. You think you have it all figured out and then something happens that blows your damn mind. WATCH IT RIGHT NOW.
Moxie (2021)
SO. DAMN. GOOD.
I rarely write reviews on movies but this movie is special. I'm 31 and I so wish these kinds of movies existed when I was in high school. I could've learned that I don't have to stay quiet about boys touching me when I don't want to be touched. This movie will help girls to find their voice and that is so so important. I finished the movie feeling so empowered. Also, I LOVED that they included boys in this Moxie group. There are boys/men who believe in equality!!
A Secret Love (2020)
Incredible love story
The trailer for this documentary alone made me so emotional. As a lesbian myself I was so excited to watch it. It was heartbreaking that they had to keep their love a secret for that long. But they had each other, and that was enough for them. When Pat said "what does Terry mean to me, well she means everything to me" with tears in her eyes, I lost it. That's the kind of love that everyone hopes and dreams for. This documentary was so beautifully done. Bravo!!
