Matt Rife: Natural Selection (2023)
Very tame, unoriginal stand-up,
Matt Rife would like you to believe he's an edgy comedian. He's not. He'd like to be, but it's obvious his observations are basic and not original, combined with zero punchlines, which leads to one of the worst specials since Gringo Papi. And any comedian who tells you how funny he is on a special, isn't funny. Decent crowd work doesn't make a decent comedian. He says he doesn't care about what people think. Perhaps he should and go back to the drawing board as this feels completely rushed by Matt Rife and Netflix. I mean most are just long, boring stories with no pay off or punchlines. Skip this one.
The Gringo Papi (2022)
Awful jokes. Awful delivery.
Brendan really is the worst LA comedian there is. They're all pretty bad and hacky out there, especially garbage like Burt Kreisher and Tom Segura but Schaub takes Stand-Up to another level of unfunny.
Bill Burr Presents: Friends Who Kill (2022)
Jimmy Carr and Steph were good.
Bill Burr, Jimmy Carr and the Steph Tolev were really hilarious. The rest were terrible. Never seen that Steph Tolev before, but I'm a fan now. It's worth watching tho if you're a fan of comedy.
Jonas Brothers Family Roast (2021)
Almost as bad as Brendan Shaub's stand-up special... almost.
Cringe and awful. Full of pretentious hacks. Pete Davison is horrible. No idea how he has got as far as he has. If you want something funnier to watch, put the microwave on for an hour and watch the countdown clock.
Schulz Saves America (2020)
Not as bad as Schaub's.
I like Schultz but this is awful. Didn't laugh once.
The Degenerates: Jim Norton (2019)
Not bad.
Jim Norton is by far the stand out of this series. The rest are okay but Jimmy rules here.
Dora and the Lost City of Gold (2019)
Dora and The Last Crusade?
Film was entertaining and funny, even though the entire third act has been lifted from Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade. Kids will love it. Solid effort.
Katherine Ryan: Glitter Room (2019)
Unorginal and uninspired.
I didn't get all the way through it as it didn't make me laugh once. And the whole talking to a man in the audience like a toddler was just cringe worthy. Netflix give specials to anybody that can hold a mic these days. Definitely skip this. Garbage.
Brendan Schaub: You'd Be Surprised (2019)
Untalented hack.
Dana White summed it up best when he said "as soon as Rogan drops Schaub, he'll disappear". Totally agree.
