Midsommar (2019)
Shocking, disturbing in not the best way. Does what it wants to do well though
Plays with the sound in an interesting way, more than the 'audio jumpscares' you'd expect in any horror film. May be a bit too slow for some, but got me immersed in very nicely. The ending is really on point. Very gory at times, tension is there throughout the whole movie. On the other hand, if you want to get a few spooks and move on, this isn't the right film for you. Left me disturbed for a good day, especially after having spent 2+ hours in the twisted world of the movie.
The Truman Show (1998)
Unique piece of sci-fi, thought-provoking, dramatic and emotional
A brilliant piece of sci-fi, nothing like what I've seen before. Raised some questions I rarely ask myself, on the dramatic side I found it very depressing to watch, but I don't mind that. 10/10, might be the first film I'm gonna rewatch sometime.
Zoe (2018)
A decent movie if you don't get thrown off early on
From the first half-an-hour or so, the concept seems to be pretty interesting and the characters are well-made. But the overusing of music, hopping between moods of the soundtrack every second scene and a very specific, obnoxious at times style of music ruins the immersion. If you can ignore that, you'll probably have a decent time watching it.
Prospect (2018)
A unique approach to sci-fi
The main concept of the story is fairly simple yet detailed and well thought through. It's also really well written, with enough unexpected turns and a well-rounded, action-packed structure. The acting is convincing, the camerawork and cinematography really stands out without unnecessary visual effects. A solid and unique sci-fi movie overall, probably one of the best ones I've seen in a long time.
The Courier (2020)
Amazing movie
A solid movie, from the cinematography and the soundtrack to the acting and screenwriting.
