Mononoke-hime (1997)
"The" Best Animation Film
Of all the animation films I have ever seen, I officially declare Princess Mononoke "The" best animation film I've seen. And get this, I'm not much of an anime-fan. Princess Mononoke has the best features of Anime and best features of American animation in one film. The story is breath-taking (really!). It's one of two major reasons why this film is so great. The other reason is simply the animation in itself. The Layouts, backgrounds, motions, and characters of this animation is so beautifully made, I could watch it all day. As many of my friends would know, I don't give "10" rating to just any film. But Princess Mononoke definitely deserves it and I highly recommend it to anyone.
Sugar & Spice (2001)
Good Idea... And Good Try
This movie was to emphasize the side of us that wants to do evil, bad, and our desire to support "Bad Guys". While that's a good idea, as a story it was very typical and predictable. While the way the film was made is pretty funny, we had no pay-off from the movie (something that made our moneys worth). It has a very long intro of a bunch of cheerleaders, one of which is pregnant. And it had an ending that ruined the whole movie. It's the fact that there wasn't much an ending at all. This story lacks a twist and has no particular theme other than "doing bad is good".
I don't recommend Sugar and Spice to anybody. Unless you have an hour and a half time to burn.
