Halo 2 (2004 Video Game)
10/10
My favorite game of all time and easily the best game on any Xbox console.

That is a bold statement, but I stand by it. While the first Halo (Halo: Combat Evolved, 2001) is a masterpiece in its own right, Halo 2 took everything from its predecessor and cranked it up ten notches. The story, the level design, the graphics (Halo 2: Anniversary's cutscene graphics are only RIVALED by Red Dead Redemption 2's), voice acting, horror, humor, memorable moments... all of it is just so fine tuned. Sure, you'll find bugs and glitches, but those are what give the game so much flavor and shape the memories of people playing this game for the first time. Multiplayer is a blast, the story is downright incredible (especially for a 2004 game; this thing feels like a 2019 movie), and the stakes are the highest they've ever been. If you have never played this game, now is your chance. You're missing out on something perfect.

Uncut Gems (2019)

A Masterclass in Nail-Biting Cinema
13 June 2020
This movie was INTENSE. To put this into scale, the scenes where the characters are merely watching basketball games are the somehow full of unrivaled tension that I've never felt from a film before. I'm 16 and I've seen my fair share of movies, everything from the greats (Shawshank, Platoon, Natural Born Killers, Citizen Kane, etc.) to the stinkers (Troll 2, Stone Cold, etc.). This movie easily tops the list of the most intense films that I have ever seen. Besides from the sheer intensity, Adam Sandler gives a knockout performance as Howard. I was completely engaged in his character the entire time I was watching the movie, never believing for one second that Sandler was any other character. The acting from Julia Fox is especially convincing as well; she has quite a future in the film industry. The cinematography is beautiful, the acting is fantastic, the story is tense, exciting, and very well thought-out, and the ending will most likely catch you completely off guard. I know it did to me. Uncut Gems is on Netflix if you want to watch it, but for the more faint of heart, take a break around the hour and twenty minute mark and let yourself breathe. You may forget to.

An Absolutely Brilliant Show
11 April 2020
Despite season 4 of this show not having... the BEST reputation, this show still deserves a 10/10. It has everything: humor, compassion, character growth and development, engagement, shenanigans, lessons to be learned, and so much more. This show is my new favorite television program of all time. Now excuse me-I have to rewatch it.

The Skatrix (1999 Video)

At least they tried...

From start to finish, this movie made no sense. The entire film is built around skating championships, which is stupid in it's own right. The "plot" is all over the place and makes no sense most of the time, especially at the very end. It's just not a good movie.

Stone Cold (1991)

What were they thinking?

The Wizard of Bos should have stayed in his professional football career instead of drifting over into acting. Not only is he terrible at what this film demands of him, he's completely stiff. There's this one scene that takes place is a strip club and you can tell that Brian Bosworth is distracted by all the dancing naked ladies around him. The acting in this movie is complete and utter crap from everyone except Lance Henriksen, who tries his best with what he's got, and William Forsythe, who is completely wasted. The climax is seven minutes long and is simply mediocre. It's not thrilling or exciting or anything of the sort. The movie is ~90 minutes long and, thankfully, those 90 minutes go by rather quick, which I was surprised at. I will give this movie credit for at least trying to be an alright action movie, but everything just drags it down. If you're into watching bad movies like I am, this is a must-see. But, if you're not into that sort of stuff, don't even bother with this film.

This is... worse than bad.

I watched this movie for my Tapes that Time Forgot series on YouTube (the Enthusiast) and am now debating on whether or not I should subject my viewers to this absolute travesty. It's a complete clutter from start to finish, riddled with plot holes, wacky dialogue, and plain old bad scenes. For your sake: DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE.

I Absolutely Despise This Movie.
15 May 2019
This movie has no redeeming qualities whatsoever and is plain garbage. This was the first movie I reviewed for my "Tapes that Time Forgot" series on my YouTube channel "The Enthusiast" and, let me tell you, we're not off to a great start. This film is a muddled, cheap cluster of crap stuffed into 90 minutes. Burn it. Also, the VHS box lies. There is no carnival and the actors on the cover aren't the same as the ones in the film.
