Young Sheldon: Memoir (2024)
Written by atheists
There was some humor in this episode, but not enough. And it was really sad and dumb to have Mary try to force the kids to be baptized. Obviously the show was written by atheist. You don't know anything about being a Baptist. Being baptized doesn't save you, you have to ask Jesus and your heart and accept them into your life. Then you are baptized as an outward sign of your new life. As a good Christian and good Baptist. Mary would've known that. And Sheldon coming out in the wetsuit was just ridiculous.
I will still miss the show and I might watch this episode in the future but for now I think of the funeral episode as their final episode. Unfortunately, the scenes with older Amy and older Sheldon just shows that he didn't grow as much as I thought he did.
The White Lotus: That's Amore (2022)
Nothing more than porn
Lots of scenes of people having sex. It's very disturbing. I don't see any purpose for all the graphic sex scenes other than the shock value. Very over the top and unnecessary. I don't understand all the high ratings for this episode.
I also don't understand the review saying they were surprised by this episode. I could see the twist coming from a mile away. This is way too much like season one. It just feels like a repeat.
I don't even know if I'm going to watch the rest of the season. I might just read recaps to find out who the dead bodies are from the first episode, but I already have my guesses.
Untold: Swamp Kings: Part Three - Trouble in the Swamp (2023)
Winning at any cost
I am not a Gator fan but I grew up in Florida and lived there during this period. It's really disappointing the way they gloss over the players' legal players. They spent some of the episode talking about the arrests but rarely mention what the crime was. Urban Meyer wants you to believe he didn't kick players off the team because he did that to one player who overdosed a year later. At least Paul Finebaum tells it like it is and says that most coaches have a line and if you cross it that's it but he doesn't think Meyer has a line. I agree. Meyer didn't care what they did off the field. All he cared about was winning.
Cold Case: The Red and the Blue (2006)
Apparently the show runners hate Tennessee
This is a decent episode but the remarks about country music and being a "red state" is annoying. It seems like they haven't been to Nashville either. Typical Hollywood stereotypes of what they think the "flyover" states are like. "Big Daddy?" "Honey Sugar?" Exaggerated accents? Anyone from Tennessee is a "real live cowboy?" And Honey called Edie a "Northern gal?" Seems like "Yankee" would have been more apt.
Also drive to Nashville? That's 12 1/2 hours! I find it hard to believe they wouldn't fly.
The use of Tim McGraw music is great. And the Sugar Boys sound decent also. Unfortunately, the lip syncing was not that good.
But still over all a good episode.
Star Trek: The Next Generation: Suddenly Human (1990)
Another episode showing why Picard is a horrible captain
This kid was kidnapped by his parents' murderers and indoctrinated into their way of life. He has a relative still alive who outranks Picard and Picard really makes no effort to deliver the kid to Admiral Grandma.
How the Federation was not overrun by other species during Picard's time, I'll never know. Picard always takes the path of least resistance.
Picard doesn't know how to be a father? Never knew how to be a kid? Then let Riker take him under his wing. We know he can be a decent father. We saw that in Future Imperfect.
I will never understand why people love Picard. TNG would have been much better focusing on Riker.
Big Shot: Carlsbad Crazies (2021)
Cancel Culture
Probably not what Disney was going for but this episode showed how the cancel culture hurts people, in this case their own high school girls basketball team. I would think being an all girls school, they would know how little people care. Maybe HS girls really don't think about the consequences of their actions. It would have been nice if they could have shown the repercussions, like all the businesses in Georgia suffered from pulling the MLB All-Star game, but at least they did show how a girl was being shamed just for having the same last name as her father.
Big Shot: Pilot (2021)
This is what's wrong with the world
Oh good grief. I'm glad I gave this a second episode because these girls are so whiny. How are they ever goi g to be CEOs if they fall apart the first time someone doesn't tell them they're awesome?
Thankfully the show does get better. So far this the weakest episode.
