The Good Doctor: Frontline, Part 1 (2020)
Of course they gonna show the struggle of healthcare workers
A medical show that set in real life gonna talk about real life which is a horrible situation everyone gone & is going through. Have it's good & bad moments
Low rating the episode because you a non-believer in a global pandemic or your political views conflict with the health of the public only happens in the USA.
It's good to see the inside working of a hospital & the struggle & it's all too real cause some countries like USA are still living through that struggle
Paranormal (2020)
Great Egyptian series so...
It's a great Egyptian series so now we hold it to a higher standard than other Egyptian series. Lots of Egyptian will give 10 cause they're comparing it to other mass produced Egyptian drama with married couples going through a tough times nonsense.
A well thought out, well written series with good directing & cinematography is not very common with the 30 episodes full of fillers episode written to fit a certain "star". This series they care about the story telling & how they'll represent it to the audience. You can see the effort to perfect the story & how much the lead character carries the burden of presenting the story effortlessly & keep the audience engage & invested in the character.
It definitely deserves a high ratings but not a 10 stars as they still have room for improvement & a long way to go to build other characters, improve the CGI & build the whole world of these stories more & make the audience more invested in other characters other than the leading man as all the female characters in the story are 2 dimensional with no character development & main purpose for them is to support the leading man whenever he needs it.
The Witcher (2019)
Have great potential but don't see how it could be compared to game of thrones
This is a review of someone who haven't played the games or read the books but have heard of the witcher books & video games so i know the general outline. The show built the world okay in the first couple of episodes & you don't have to have witcher background to keep up most of the times. But it falls short when it come to building relationships between certain characters like yennefer & geralt. Their relationship developed too quickly & became too attached & reliant on each considering how independent & strong they are, it's clear that the writers wanted to develop their story line quickly & they relied on the books & the game fans to understand why they are the way they are but to anyone else it just seems too out of character for both of them to trust & fall for someone so fast.
This is the major reason it can't be compared to game of thrones as GOT delivered character building world while fantasy took a back seat. The witcher is revolving around fantasy & magic & how that changes & develops the characters in the show.
Neither is better or worse as it's too early to judge. It's just they're completely different shows with completely different ways of telling a story
Another Life (2019)
High schoolers go to space with 1 Adult chaperone
Could only survive 2 episode
The only one who looks & acts like an astronaut is katee. The rest are a bunch of whiny, emotional irrational teens & by some chance they got stuck in a spaceship togther & now they have to save the earth which they're not ready nor qualified for.
And you gotta hate the boys flexing their muscles & ego while the girls acts entitled Annoying divas, i was expecting them to start taking selfies & posting it while bragging how many likes they got.
And ofcourse you can't miss the macho 2nd in command who is the stereotypical man who can't deal with a woman outranking him saying No to him talking to his crew member who is a guy is full makeup, leather & stilettos in SPACE about how irrational-the only REAL astronaut- captain is.
3 stars for katee. But she can't save this.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
A fitting ending to the season
Thanks D&D for sticking the season landing right on it's neck & breaking an amazing story to a million pieces so it satisfies your shock value standards.
The bad reviews through the season was never about tge story not fitting the fans theory. It's always been about the season progressed when it came to writing, shock value over logic and foreshadowing instead of character building.
There is ofcourse so much to say regarding absolute disregard to character development through out the seasons that was completely forgotten & definitely the main complaint about Daenerys character that took a complete change in the other direction in a matter of 2 episodes and expected of fans to accept it. It just made the fans go back GRRM books & writings & reminisce about the good old days when characters were built, showed you what they are and writers didn't need to come after an episode explaining why the characters changed their minds or completely "forgot" about their personality last minute.
Game of Thrones: The Bells (2019)
Gave up on the ending & waiting for the books
You know it's bad when you still feel disappointed even after you give up all hope of salvage.
I gave it 3 stars cuz emilia's acting & the dragon action was good but that's IT.
Everyone knew where this was going with how the season progressed with this way of writing. Daenerys turned from a rightful heir & righteous queen and the hope of the kingdom & savior of the north & the seven kingdom to a mad queen who everyone should betray-except jon snow- in a matter of 3 episodes!!! Seriously!!!
We can't forget behind the episode where D&D explained their decision because she felt betrayed, isolated& her close advisers got murdered...so ofcourse mad queen/tyrant burns down a whole city is the only rational direction Daenerys character will go!! (Internally screaming)
Altered Carbon (2018)
My type of scifi
Is it weird after watching the first episode i remembered another scifi series-dollhouse by joss wehdon!!
-it have all the potential to become a great scifi series. From good character development that makes you care about every aspect of their regular life to the great story arch and ofcourse we can't forget the thriller & mystery to the story which all was connected perfectly
Captain Marvel (2019)
Mary sue
Watching a female lead superhero i have to compare.
Captain marvel vs. Wonder woman
There is much to compare but not regarding the superpower or strength. I'm comparing the character development & how you feel connected & how much you'll be rooting for her.
I ended up not caring. Indifferent to any of her struggles, indifferent to her stroy or her previous forgotten life or her new found life.
She was strong then got stronger & finally became invisible all the while leaving the audience not caring about any of that
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Going out with a bang
It's probably the most satisfying end to a huge saga like this one.
Ofcourse it have some time traveling plot holes if you gonna nitpick at it but it's as close to perfection to a movie involves time traveling.
But overall it was the best marvel movie. Best character development. Best movie arch that led to the best action I've seen
Game of Thrones: The Last of the Starks (2019)
Disappointed
Spoilers -from how they made tyrion get dumber with every episode so they can have cersei have the upper hand. If you wanna make cersei keep winning the game then make her smarter don't nake her rivals dumber. -how they made sansa just a shrew who trust noone including jon with no good reason for her mistrust. -how they're just shoving the mad queen theory down our throat to justify tyrion, varys & eventually jon betrayal for her. While in reality they let her down on every turn specifically tyrion with almost treasonous mistakes but the second she stops listening to him he calls her a mad queen. Just very sloppy & forced plot.
- I'm not even gonna get into the plot holes that the whole season had & the plot armor that the characters suddenly have that protects them from any deadly situation
