Damnation Alley (1977)
Cheesy, but interesting
This movie did have cheesy acting and special effects, but at least it wasn't filled with the fear, anxiety and hopelessness of the movie '' The Day After''. In order to enjoy ''Damnation Alley'', you really do have to turn off your brain and turn on your imagination. Unlike most, i actually liked the ending of this movie, it did at least offer hope that humanity wasn't completely wiped out in the nuclear holocaust. ''The Day After'' seemed to imply that all living things would eventually die in the aftermath of nuclear war.
''Damnation Alley'' is not my favorite movie by no means, but i watch it every time it happens to be shown on one of the cable channels.
Murder in Coweta County (1983)
My personal favorite TV movie of all time!!
If you loved this great TV movie, you would love the book even better!! The ''Murder in Coweta county'' book goes into much more detail than the movie does, but i realize the budget for this movie was low as most ''made for TV movies'' are. I have read the book from cover to cover 3 times.
The acting was very good in this movie, but i have to admit as was kinda taken aback seeing Andy Griffith being a villain, i have saw all of the ''Andy Griffith shows'' umpteen times and was so used to him being a kind hearted and friendly sheriff of Mayberry. I was kinda in shock to see him a very bad villain. Also, they should have had Andy Griffith to wear a skull cap or shave his head for the whole movie instead of at the end for the execution,as the real John Wallace was bald headed.
I was also extremely impressed with acting job of the late Johnny Cash, and i personally know people that knew the real Lamar Potts, and he was indeed a very soft spoken determined Sheriff. (I live only 15 miles from where the murder actually occurred)
I hope i can find this movie on video again, i had the VCR tape at one time, but it was stolen from me. It has been so long since i have watched it. I suppose my attraction for this great film is made stronger because i live so close to where it actually occurred.
Natural Born Killers (1994)
Another movie so bad i couldn't watch all of it!!!
This movie was hyped up to be one not to be missed... i wish now i had missed it, i have never saw such a jumbled up mess of a movie in all of my life, it had no plot whatsoever, and the scenes switching back and forth from black and white to color just made no sense at all.
Oliver Stone must have been on LSD when he thought up this very sorry excuse for a movie, i could only stand about 30 minutes of this movie, and from other comments on here, the rest of the movie was no better, so i am glad i didn't bother to watch the rest of it.
It makes me wonder what could possibly be good about this movie as i was surprised it got the overall rating it got on here.
Breakdown (1997)
A great suspense-thriller, i loved this movie!!
Kurt Russell's best performance in my opinion!! and although i hated the character J.T. Walsh portrayed in this movie, his performance was excellent too.. but, there were many villains in this movie to say the least!!! and even though some parts of the movie were predictable, the suspenseful nature of it kept me on the edge of my seat almost through the whole movie.
I have watched this movie over and over again on the movie channels on TV and still haven't gotten tired of it. I love the ending of the movie where J.T. Walsh gets killed, and the relief Russell's character and his wife must have felt when their terrible ordeal was finally over.
Jonathan Livingston Seagull (1973)
The second worst movie i have ever saw!!!!
This painfully boring movie was the worst movie i had ever saw until UFO-Target Earth came out in 1974, i actually fell asleep in my chair at the movie house while trying to watch this..
It was cheap made, and really had no kind of plot or storyline whatsoever!! I don't usually walk out of a movie i had paid to see, but this sorry thing was just too much for me...
I never read the book this was supposed to be about, but it had to have been better than the movie, in the 33 years since it was made, i have never heard anyone mention it again... so that must very indicitive of just how bad this movie was.
UFO: Target Earth (1974)
Absolutely the worst movie ever made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have always been very interested in the UFO phenomenon and i couldn't wait to see this movie when it came out in 1974, so my ex-wife and i went to see it at a drive-in movie, and at first i thought it was going to be OK, but as it dragged on, it got worse instead of better, the whole movie made no sense at all to me.
This movie was so bad i looked around and everyone else left, and we were the only ones left, i finally couldn't take it anymore and we also left, i can only hope this disaster of a movie never comes out on DVD or video, only someone who had never saw this sorry excuse for a movie would rent it or buy it!!!!
Thank goodness much better UFO movies came out later such as ''Close Encounters of the third kind'' and '' The interrupted journey'' and ''Fire in the Sky''
Box of Moonlight (1996)
This movie is a masterpiece
Box of Moonlight is a beautiful piece of work. I loved everything about it. The main thing about it is the beautiful area it was filmed in, i watch it over and over again sometimes just to admire the beauty and love i have for those hills and familiar places i have visited over and over again,i just wished the one comment made by the crew leader while they were on the bus back to the hotel after the job was canceled had been deleted from the movie: ''Here's to Al Fountain for getting us out of this sh** hole early'' I kinda took that comment to heart because i love the Knoxville,TN and surrounding areas,( where the film was made) so much. The acting was excellent by the entire cast, and there was never a dull moment anytime in the entire movie. It is my wish that there could somehow be a sequel to this great movie, filmed with the same actors and in the same beautiful place, but i honestly don't think it will ever happen. This movie is underrated and i don't understand why, i have the movie on DVD and on a VCR tape, and everyone that i have watched it with really loves this great movie.
