Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013)
Classic!
This movie has become a classic and I love watching it every time!
Dil Dhadakne Do (2015)
Classic!
Have watched this movie over and over again! Such a fun story with hilarious characters. Priyanka and Ranveer are the best brother-sister duo. The casting director did a good job to fit all the characters. It felt like I was in the movie because of all the chaos and drama that goes down on the Cruise with relatable characters. The movie has such a simple story but that's the beauty of it because it's all about the emotions. It's all about the heart. Dil Dhadakne Do!
Zero (2018)
Half-way there
Loved the film in its first half as it progresses with Shahrukh and Anushka. Then the film turns into another direction and it feels like I'm in a different film. I will say that Katrina has redeemed herself as Babita and has done a really good job! In the second half, the film takes an emotional approach that fails to work and is extremely long. My family and I literally walked out and couldn't bear the last 20 or so minutes. I can see that the makers were trying a new concept that failed miserably. Like it's so fictitious, which makes it even worse. Spaceship and monkey! Like seriously? Great acting but really weird story!
Gully Boy (2019)
Amazing film!
Bollywood is flourishing to new heights with creative stories like this one. Gully Boy is a fantastic film with a fascinating story. Ranveer Singh is brilliant as the hidden talent-family struggles kind of guy and shines as the movie progresses. I also really enjoyed Siddhanth for outshining Ranveer in some scenes as his sidekick. But I will say that Alia Bhatt was unnecessary in the movie, though she was brilliant as her character. Also I felt that the movie could have been cut short by 15-20 minutes since it was a bit too long. Other than that I really enjoyed it till the end.
Chennai Express (2013)
Classic entertainer!
One of my favorite movies! Shah Rukh was hilarious, but Deepika stole his spotlight. She is extremely talented and has great comic timing. She plays Meena Lochini with such ease and has smart and witty one-liners. The film is a fun masala entertainer that does not fail to make the audience laugh.
Simmba (2018)
Full on entertainer!
This was the masala type of movie that I was missing for in such a long time. Finally they made this and with Ranveer Singh! He was outstanding as Simmba! His comic timing is amazing. Sara Ali Khan is a gem and I genuinely like her as an actress. The songs were catchy and groovy. Along with all this, there is an important lesson in the movie to learn that will make the audience emotional. The movie is a full on entertainer.
Padmaavat (2018)
Epic Masterpiece
So much hard work has went into the movie. Each scene is breathtaking and visually appealing to the eye. Ranveer Singh has proven that he his here to stay with his performance as Khilji. I have never seen such a character played in Bollywood. So unique and different! I thought he overshadowed Shahid but Shahid was damn good as well. Deepika is flawless and powerful as Rani Padmavati, especially in the last scene! This film is Bhansali's best!
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016)
So good!
One of my favorite movies! Awesome acting by everyone in the film. Anushka and Ranbir's pairing is so good. And Aishwarya looks breathtaking in each scene. Everything is captured beautifully. The only downside is that the story is a bit weak but I think that's the beauty of it. It's simple filled with emotions that will make you feel sad and happy for each character. The songs are damn good, especially Channa Mereya. It hits you in the heart. Ae dil hai mushkil!
Kalank (2019)
Decent!
This movie is not that bad as other reviewers make it seem. Sure it has some faults from having unnecessary long scenes and background music. The movie could have been cut short by 20 minutes. Also, the story was cliche and a bit weak. It's unmatchable to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's work so don't go in with such expectations. What kept me hooked was everyone's acting as well as the sets, costumes, and cinematography. The songs were good too. The climax was surprising with a lot of emotions. Alia was superb and Varun did a pretty damn good job. Aditya and Sonakshi stood out too. I appreciated Sanjay Dutt for his efforts as well. But most importantly, Madhuri was just breathtaking! People are not giving credit to where it's due and are bashing the entire movie. It's not that bad!
