Madame Web (2024)
I was shocked that I enjoyed it
Was it on par with Spider-Man? No. Was it enjoyable? Actually yes. Was it what I expected based on the trailer? God no. This was waaaaay less a superhero movie than I expected. It wasn't presented to us as an origin story, but that's what it is. You get far more origin than superhero. In an era where all of our superhero movies are go go go action, it was kind of nice. Was/is Dakota Johnson a little flat? I mean, it's her. You've seen her movies, I'm sure. That's like asking was Sydney Sweeny big boobed. But overall? It was kind of sweet, what was pleasant. It was nice to see "teenagers" (or women playing teenagers) a acting impulsive, like teenagers. If you enjoy good-bad movies from the 90s that had less action and more heart, you might enjoy this. If you're a dude looking for a bad af movie, maybe skip it and try Dolph Lungren's Punisher.
The Watchful Eye (2023)
As of episode 2
The pilot was a bit messy and hard to follow, but episode 2 was much better. Things are unwinding at a slower pace than I'm used to on typical TV shows--and I love that. There's something oddly ominous about things and the acting is pretty nice. It's not a 10/10 for acting, but it's decent enough that you can get lost in the story a bit. Amy Acker alone is a reason to stick around; she's fabulous and I worship her.
I don't expect this to be a 10 star show, not even a 9, but it's shaping up to be a 6-8 star show if the writers keep down this path, pace, and general feel. I'm hoping it ages like wine and myself.
I will update if things go completely awry and this review ages like milk.
Alert: Missing Persons Unit (2023)
Pacing issues galore!
I'm not sure how this show has a 6-7/10 rating. The pacing is so poorly done. Three writers have not bothered to let the show breathe. There is no character development, no transitions, just rush rush rush. Even between scenes, there is not a bridge. The cuts feel haphazardly thrown together. The story could actually be interesting, but it needs a moment to actually let the watcher engage. This feels so rushed that it's almost like they don't want us to like it. Even the personal conflicts between the characters is rushed. It's like "we don't agree" "no we don't" *2 seconds later* "yup moving on now that we addressed that and suddenly see eye to eye." The show is so disjointed. I was hoping the 2nd episode was better, but it feels even more rushed. I think the writers might've taken that Adderall.
NCIS: New Orleans: Biased (2020)
Regarding wokeness complaints
I understand what you're complaining about. I might not agree, but I understand. This episode was handled beautifully though. There was not a wrong or right. There wasn't anyone saying there's a bad cop or a good cop. There wasn't a message of anything but an opportunity to learn and continue to grow. Yes there was an acknowledgement that we all have biases, and if you can't see that as a true statement then I don't know why you are even here. This episode dances a very gray and very real line that the entire justice department dances every day. This was beautifully executed and very fairly portrayed by all parties.

One word: wow
I do not watch westerns. I've never seen Yellowstone. When I say I loved this show, I mean I LOVED it. Beautifully written, cinematically shot, perfectly acted, even more perfectly written. It was a breath of fresh air on the TV. What a perfect and contained series. I could not ask for more.
Murderville (2022)
Absolutely awesome
I feel like some people are missing the entire improvisational point of this show. It's borderline satiric and not meant to be serious. The humor seems elementary but is actually quite brilliant. I feel like so many of these reviews are missing that and just don't get it. That's like watching Maury or Jerry and expecting 20/20. If this isn't for you, that's fine; but don't be angry and rate it low for doing exactly what it is supposed to do. It is a damn fun ride and quite brilliant. Set your expectations to simply have a good time and a chuckle. This isn't going to be an earth shaking context, nor is it meant to be. So stop expecting everything to be Oscar worthy and just enjoy the ride. What a fun ride it is.
Dead & Breakfast (2004)
As good as it's supposed to be
Are you here, watching a movie called Dead and Breakfast, expecting an Oscar winning movie? You shouldn't be. This movie is fun. It's humorous. It makes fun of itself. It makes you smile and doesn't take itself seriously. You can't be in a bad mood while watching this movie. That's why it's a 10/10 for me. It's exactly what it needs to be.
9-1-1: First Responders (2021)
So much heart
I cannot believe the negative reviews. This episode has so much feeling and heart.
