Happy! (2017)
Seriously f'ing fantastic
Don't you dare cancel this show. One of the most original, honest, funny, and brutal shows I've ever seen.
The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016)
YEEEESSSSS
This movie was a fantastic watch. Did it get a little hokey towards the end? Sure. But did it give me goosebumps multiple times? Absolutely. In my book thats a win. The acting was fantastic, I cared about the characters, AND FOR ONCE in a horror movie, the main characters were never at odds. No stereotypical, "I didn't see the creepy thing you saw so you must be lying!". Seriously, the father/son duo worked flawlessly, and this is definitely a film I wish I could watch for the first time again.
Apostle (2018)
Best Netflix Original Horror I've Seen
Ignore anyone picking this movie apart. The acting is absolutely fantastic, the script is great, and the editing/directing is just brilliant. I wish so badly this had got a theater release because it deserves so much more than just being shelved away with so many trash Netflix horrors (cough, cough, The Witch). I found myself literally reacting to this movie in a vocal way when things got frustrating. Every role was cast well, and the cinematography was awesome. I hardly even noticed that two hours had slipped by. I don't understand why so many people just want to pick things apart. Good horror is so hard to come by anymore and it drives me insane that the horror fan base doesn't recognize the harm they do by leaving awful reviews for movies that clearly stand out among the rest. Seriously people. stop hating things just to hate them.
Into the Dark: Treehouse (2019)
Lots of ridiculous reviews here
I literally made an account to counter the awfully unfair reviews this movie is getting. I truly believe so many of you picked something you hated and just ran with it. Seriously, don't be so hard on something trying to tackle an extremely sensitive topic. I thought the movie did a fine job playing with the idea of how to fix what otherwise seems unfixable. And for anyone trying to water down what the protagonist did to warrant this violent reaction is just wrong, he commuted an awful crime and I enjoyed watching him be toyed with.
