Suspiria (1977)
THE SCARIEST MOVIE EVER!! HAD TROUBLE SLEEPING AFTERWARDS!!
Critics, film fans, and Mark Edward Hueck of "Beat The Geeks" said this was the scariest movie ever. They are 100% RIGHT!! You can watch this film any time of day and you will have night(or day)mares the rest of the day(or night)!!
This was the first Dario Argento movie I ever watched. I was curious to check it out. I did. That music throughout the music is in my head for life(even as I write this review). Nothing much happened to Jessica Harper after this 1977 classic. Shame because she was a beautiful and talented actress.
The first 8 minutes are creepy enough with the loud scary music. The first murder is SOOOOOOOOO creepy. If that scene does not scare you, shock you, or make you cringe in horror, YOU ARE NOT HUMAN!
I watched this movie in the afternoon and I was scared the rest of the night. LOL
IMHO, "The Exorcist" is an awesome horror flick, but overrated. "SUSPIRIA" is the best and scariest horror movie EVER!!! Check it out. I have recommended it to all my friends. You'll get the crap scared out of you. GUARANTEED!! Ignore those that didn't get it or found it boring. DARIO ARGENTO RULES!!
The Groove Tube (1974)
WASTE OF TIME!
Rented it last night. The opening(2001) ran WAAAAAAAAAY too long. The hitchiker scene served no purpose. Some skits were just retarded. I knew beforehand, Chevy Chase was on for less than 2 minutes. No problem. Here are the best parts:
KOKO, URANUS, BABS COMMERCIAL, Curtis Mayfield song
Total: 7 minutes of good material out of a 75 minute movie
Everything else was either unfunny or stupid as hell.
Let me give you some advice: If you want a crude movie spoofing TV and movies, rent "Kentucky Fried Movie". If you want a less crude movie spoofing TV and movies, rent "AMAZON WOMEN ON THE MOON" or "UHF"
Otherwise, don't bother renting this movie. You'll save 2-3 dollars.
IMHO: Ken Shapiro's best movie is STILL "Modern Problems"
Kung Pow: Enter the Fist (2002)
ARE YOU GUYS NUTS? THIS IS FABULOUS!!!
The greatest movie of all time? Not a chance. The best martial arts movie of all time? Uhhhhh, nope.
Mostly likely to pick up some awards? Some Razzies maybe.
Is this a future cult classic? YES! While all they did was take Steve Odekerk and put him in the 1975
martial arts movie "Crane and Tiger Fist", and dub ALL the
dialogue to make it a comedy, it is still a fun movie to watch.
My brother and I were laughing hysterically. Yeah, some people walked out, but they probably didn't get it
anyway. Steve Odekerk is very talented (remember "Thumb Wars" and the
short-lived TV show "steve.odekerk.com"?) He has a bright future.
This may sound crazy, but I would see it again. Even crazier: If I compile a top 10 funniest movies of all time list, I'd
put this one up there. (with Airplane, Blazing Saddles, and Monty
Python and the Holy Grail taking the top 3 of course)
Yes, they trashed a martial arts movie, but nevertheless, they
made it more interesting. Check it out. *Spoiler alert* If they decide to put out a sequel, they should
proceed with caution. Otherwise, this is a CULT classic just waiting to happen.
Wo hu cang long (2000)
ONE WORD: WOW!
The most beautiful movie I have ever seen. I would hardly consider it a martial arts movie. It is a DEEP love story and it's a movie also about honor. Two things that should be thought in movies in America today. I wouldn't consider the fight scenes fight scenes. They look more like exquisite dance numbers. This is a movie everyone should see. If you want to see a riveting, exciting and touching movie...If you want to see a movie that has every single movie genre(action, drama, comedy, etc.) in one...Think of 4 words..."CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON"
The Kid Super Power Hour with Shazam! (1981)
80's CAMP/CULT CLASSIC!!!!!
This was one of my favorite TV shows growing up. It had a cheesy theme song, weird characters, and great humor. It was a sad day when the show went off the air. It is not available on video either. :( My favorite character on the show was Rex Ruthless. It was campy, cheesy, but overall, it was a barrel of laughs. A CULT CLASSIC! In my opinion anyways!
Pete's Dragon (1977)
Still a favorite from way back when
I first saw this movie when I was 3. I loved it and asked to see it over and over again. As I got older, I've noticed that the TV versions are shorter, which disappointed me. I had last rented it a month ago. It still puts a smile on my face. The music, the scenery, and the imagination. There's a little bit of Pete in all of us. I think. If you see the movie, I'm sure you'll agree.
