Drive Me Crazy (1999)
Sweet and Simple
Watching the movie I realized it was just another modern day Cinderella with most of the cliches that go with it.But putting that aside it does have its merits. It a light and warm movie that yet again proves that all people are equal underneath, that you must get past your inhibitions about others and past your own inhibitions too. In this movie cinderella is both male and female. One changing mostly outward and one mostly inward, mostly being the key word since changing in one aspect ultimately changes the other aspect too. While it isn't Oscar material, its nice for a quiet Friday night or the case of a no-date Saturday. Enjoy
Bicentennial Man (1999)
No spoilers
This comment contains nothing that may spoil any point of the movie for it is really a movie that should not be spoiled for anyone.I'm glad it wasn't spoiled for me. For even though it is not a fancy movie and may not be put on a list of the 100 best movies of all time ( even though it'll go on mine)It is a heartfelt and a heart warming movie till the end. But i will say this. It WILL make you laugh and it WILL make you cry, As any good movie should have the power to do. But.... It will also make you do 2 more very important things.
For it will make you wonder, not quite knowing is this man or machine and which should i feel for, and should i feel anything. Most importantly it will make you thank GOD for the gift of life and humanity that he has bestowed on us all, for forever nothing can be compared to human life. Enjoy :o)
Pearl Harbor (2001)
I'm still touched
I don't know about others that saw this movie, but i saw it 3 days ago and I'm still touched with the events, both fictional and non. There are so many events intertwined in this movie, You can relate to it in so many ways. The older will relate to the war scenes, the younger will understand some of what those in world war 2 went through, but will probably be more impressed with the fictional aspect. I went with a friend that knew nothing about the bombing of pearl harbor. I'm happy to say that when she came out she knew something and hungered to know more. I don't care what her incentive was, whether be it the lives lost or how cute Josh is :o) The important thing is that the film interested her.The scenes were impressive and so real, the acting was excellent, the first half of the movie moved slowly, but after that soared. In my book this is a movie not just to see but to own I don't know about anyone else who saw the movie, but i personally want to go again& again & again.
Jersey Girl (1992)
I get butterflies !!
I saw this movie a few years ago and I loved it , and it gave me all these butterflies.I saw it again today and it still has the same effect on me, as a matter of fact I felt it more and more, and yes it still DOES give me butterflies, just watching it. It didn't differ, I thought it would be like everything else in life, you remember it better than it really was, but it was just as good.Basically it's a love story about 2 different people who aren't really as different as they think , a Jersy girl who always dreams of the city and moving up and a city boy who was once from the Bronx and did move up and would do anything to never go back. It's romantic, sweet, funny, and heartfelt. I think it's most girls fairy tale in real life setting. It'll either make you feel good or it'll make you want to cry, but either way it's great Friday night movie.
Fight Club (1999)
TAKEN BY SURPRISE
When fight club first came out i didn't care to even find out what it was about, jut the name made me think I knew what it was all about, but boy was i ever wrong.Later when it came out on video I thought what can be the harm if it turns out to be one of those testosterone movies i can always take it back. But for the 2+ hours that it was on I couldn't move an inch, I mean i knew Brad Pitt could act (i mean if you think he's a play boy you need to wake up )but this was unbelievable he pulled it off without a hitch. As for Edward Norton i never thought he'd out do Primal Fear but now I forget why I thought that cause he he took me away. If you want one of the best movies made in a long time, one that will keep you on the edge of your seat guessing every min. this is it.And don't worry about the other sex both will love it believe you me. As for commenting on movie events, even one word would ruin the thrill of it, there is no other way to feel it but to see it!!
Simon Birch (1998)
I believe a movie doesn't have to be unbelievable to be believable.
I doubt most people will agree with what i have to say, for most people today want the unbelievable but I feel in love with this movie. As i was renting movies and was leaving I spotted this movie in a nook in the corner and thought why not? But I didn't regret it, half way through the movie i was crying like a baby for i was really in love. I mean how can't you with Simon Birch, with all his problems even his uncaring parents ( for in this day and age there are normal children that have uncaring parents imagine the children with problems) and the actor himself surprises you by having the height of a 6 year old and the mentality and passion way beyond his years( and a tongue too).As for his ideas of God having a plan for everyone I believe it and if you don't after the movie you will. It's simple and sweet. I believe a movie doesn't have to be unbelievable to be believable.
