The most beautiful movie I have ever seen.
21 March 2004
I am not sure where it falls yet, but this movie instantly made it on to my top 10 list. I was truly touched by it. The entire thing was beautiful. The experience of watching this brilliant kaleidoscope of a film for me is best compared to seeing a painting that immediately touches you deep down in your heart. The directing is magical and does justice to the magnificent screenplay. The acting all around is also top bar. Jim Carrey disserves special attention for his incredibly well done job. He plays his most endearing character to date and does so flawlessly. If he is not on the list of Oscar nominees next year then something is seriously wrong. To many aspects (music, cinematography, etc.) of this film deserve words said about them for me to make this review a reasonable length. So I will say this: The movie was a moving love story told an incredibly original and beautiful way.

Incredibly Independent Film with some Charming Parts.
13 June 2001
So I rented this movie from the local Hollywood Video Store. I was very attracted to it by the simple cover. I read the back which didn't reveal much, but I was compelled that it was independent. I am always one to try a new independent film. This is a true independent effort. Not one of those big budget films with big stars that claim it is independent just so the sound artsy. This movie seems like a small group of friends grabbed a early 90's model home video cammera, wrote a simple plot outline, and had a lot of fun making a film. It is a pretty good movie with characters you feel comfortable with from the beggining and some charming moments along the way. It want something different for a change...give this one a look see.

Fight Club (1999)

A life changing cinematic experience!
8 August 2000
I have so much to say about this film that I don't know where to start. First of all it is not an action movie, like some previews made it out to be. It is a smart dark comedy. I truly believe Fight Club is one of the greatest films of all time. All aspects of it are superb. The acting by the entire cast is flawless (especially the main three). The directing is revolutionary. The score makes it flow perfectly. The cinematography is breath taking. And the outstandingly smart, intriguing, intricate, and mind boggling story makes it worth every minute. This film challenges you. It makes you look at your life and what you value. The character of Tyler Durden (Pitt) has a valid point, but it is up to the viewer to decide when to stop `listening to what Tyler says.' Rent this movie if you want you want to have an experience that won't soon forget. And remember..."THIS IS YOUR LIFE AND IT'S ENDING ONE MINUTE AT A TIME."

Under rated comedy blast.
8 August 2000
Weekend at Bernies! Sure it is dumb. But the comedy is so smartly done that it makes it hilarious. I for one laugh my butt off every time I watch this movie. It is one of those movies that cheers you up if you are having a bad day. The duo of McCarthy and Silverman is almost flawless. They are wonderful to watch. Together they almost remind me of classic pairs like Laurel & Hardy or Abbot & Costello. If you just sit back and relax this movie can really tickle your funny bone. It even might make you `drop dead from laughing'. Oh.was that to corny.sorry. But honestly, this is a good film. Give it a try someday when you have nothing else to do or are having a party. (But beware just rent this one. The second one, although it has its moments, doesn't meet up to the original)
