Pedophilic and stereotypical

A cookie cut-out of sick, gossipy details into adolescence and social history with a glossy finish of pedophilic seduction and exploitation done in retro decor. There is nothing touching about any of that. Poorly directed. Unusual soundtrack.

The Wings of the Dove (1997)

Poetic, subtle, and beautiful

"The Wings of the Dove" poetically unveils itself with beautiful visuals and explorations in to the complexities of desire. A tragic irony, with an excellent finale. This movie also contains the most painfully emotive sex scene that I have ever seen; as it is honest and detailed with emotions that so rarely are captured this brilliantly in 'art'. This movie is intimate.

Grosse Pointe Blank (1997)

Pseudo-intellectual comedy

A pseudo-intellectual comedy with a terribly unethical underlying premise that caters only to our lowest senses of what humor can be. Performances are well done with attractive visuals, but an otherwise deceptive presentation of intelligence through humor. Don't be fooled.
