Le parfum de l'invisible (1997)
Naive but vibrant story, poor animation
This transposition from one of the best Milo Manara's comic books is at the same time a welcome initiative, and an bellow average product. While the characters are directly taken from Manara's comic, with all its magnificent features and style, animation and perspective is so lame that it really turns the movie down.
The story doesn't follow the original also, and what's added is actually superfluous and not very coherent. Respecting the original more faithfully could have been a better approach, as for the most part, there are no surprises for the audience who already know the story.
Anyway, I celebrate that something started working on that. If next time they pick a better animation team, like they did with Corto Maltese, they'll make Manara the homage he really deserves.
