Bicentennial Man (1999)
Two hundred years and nothing happens
I wish I could give this film a negative number for a vote just for sitting through this ridiculous film. Robin Williams is capable of so much more than this crap. Who was the target audience anyway? Its too stupid for anyone over 10, and not appropriate for anyone under 10. It seemed to last every bit of the two hundred years that this story tells.
The Mummy (1999)
Hard to rate
This movie was hard for me to rate, because some of the lines were so cheesy, but they were cheesy enough to be funny. I feel the same way about the acting. Also, there were some of the best 3D animation I've seen yet. I gave it an 8 mostly because of the superb special effects. And, I don't think they took themselves way too seriously. I liked it enough to see the sequel.
American Passport (1999)
A very powerful, unique film
I recently saw this film at the Honolulu Film Festival. It was absolutely inspirational and strangely spiritual. Paget's strength seems to lie in trusting his film to become what it would become. This film questions capitalism vs. communism, among other themes without being propaganda. It says that all sides are valid.
