Mike Bassett: England Manager (2001)
I expected much better and i don't even like football
Forced to see this movie by a couple of my friends, i went in expecting the worst. Yet still somehow i was disappointed. Two or three funny moments and what seemed like two or three hours of crud. I was hoping for more from Ricky Tomlinson's talents but unfortunately it didn't happen. The entire film was completely predictable without fail. It may be that i don't particularly like football and this is why i hated the film, however i suspect that it is genuinely a terrible film.
Maybe Baby (2000)
Excellent Film
I watched this film at the cinema and have already pre-ordered it on DVD. Fantastic performances from Hugh Laurie and Joely Richardson. Some say that this movie could have been made better but I think it's definately on my top ten films of all time. I haven't read the book because i'm not an avid reader however given the chance I would read "inconceivable" by Ben Elton, upon which this film was based.
The Blair Witch Project (1999)
What a clever film!
This film is very clever indeed. It gets into your head and if you don't stop it and come to your senses it can make you extremely terrified. About half way through the film my heart rate was getting so fast I was struggling to breathe. I had to remind myself that it wasn't real and that it's just a film!
Labyrinth (1986)
My favourite film ever.
The first time I saw Labyrinth was as a child. I was enthralled beyond belief and as such my love for this film has continued to this day.
Fortunately Labyrinth has recently been re-released in this country and I have been able to purchase it!
This is my favourite film of all time and I think that Jennifer Connelly is excellent in it.
