Final Destination (2000)
Holy ShiZnaP Batman!!
Wow...awesome, awesome movie. There are only a handful of movies that really scared me to death, and this was one of them. It's one of those films that you're almost afraid to watch because you don't know what they're going to do...they sort of install that fear in you from the get go.
2 words... BUS SCENE. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??????? I don't think I've jumped so much...and been so startled. Yikes.
Definitely recommend it.
Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002)
A lot of fun!!
I thought this was a great finale of the Austin Powers saga...I was in stitches quite often throughout this movie. This one was a quite a bit different than the others...it focused more on gags, than really on the storyline.....though Austin Powers really isn't a movie you're going to see for the plot. The whole movie really consisted of Mike Myers having A LOT of fun with all the characters and just goofing around. I definitely recommend it for a good laugh...I can't wait to own it!
Spider-Man (2002)
Outstanding!!!
This is easily one my favorite movies of all time...I've never watched a movie and been so excited before and after the movie. The story was wonderful, the action was exciting and the effects were outstanding. I don't remember the last time I saw a movie and got so caught up in it like I have with this. If you want to have a great time go see Spider-Man!
A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001)
You're an idiot if you didn't like this movie
I think that subject kinda speaks for itself. You obviously have to be at a certain level of intellect to enjoy this movie or something. What did you guys expect? This movie was definitely a masterpiece. It had a great plot and the acting was excellent. A.I. was an emotional rollercoaster and I can easily say that it is one of the best movies I've seen. The movie was a little unsettling at times and a little depressing, but the ending made up for it. It's a DIFFERENT kind of movie, and it's really disappointing that there are people out there that can't appreciate it for what it is.
Teaching Mrs. Tingle (1999)
Pretty good story....one very good actress
The one actress I'm talking about is Marisa Coughlan, who played Jo Lynn. She is obviously a very talented actress and her whole exorcist scene (which had nothing to do with the movie at all, whatsoever) was awesome. Other than that, the plot was kind of weak, but the characters were very likeable and it kept me interested. It's a cute movie.
Urban Legends: Final Cut (2000)
Unbelievably awful
This story didn't make any sense and it was ridiculous. It was so poorly written and I nodded off at least 3 times. There were some really sick scenes, but the movie was so stupid that even the gore couldn't make up for it. I don't have much to say about this movie, except that I was extremely disappointed, especially after seeing and owning the first movie.
Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 (2000)
Extremely Freaky
I just saw the movie...opening night. It was definitely one of those movies that leaves a lasting impression in the back of your mind for a while. I thought the movie was great. It kept you on your feet...and a little scared about what they were going to show you. It was very interesting to see a "real" movie about this, which was obviously a product of the major profit they made off the low-budget, first movie.
To see what the Blair Witch was doing to these kids...the same thing that the Witch did to Rustin Parr was very scary.
I definitely recommend this movie!
Charlie's Angels (2000)
Truly Excellent
I absolutely loved it! I loved the whole Matrix feel to the movie and it was cast beautifully. I couldn't find a flaw in the movie and I was constantly on the edge of my seat throughout the whole movie. It's by far the best movie I've seen in a long time and I can't wait to own it! Nothing like watching 3 women kick the c**p out of the bad guys...especially George McFly! GO SEE IT
Meet the Parents (2000)
Did I miss something?
I thought the movie was funny, but not hilarious, by any means. I really don't expect much when I go to movies, but I definitely expected more of a comedic masterpiece. I didn't get it. I thought a lot of the humor was dry. There were a few times that I laughed hard...but I found myself looking at my watch often. It's a decent movie. A good rent...not worth the 7 bucks per ticket at the theater...with popcorn, nachos and reeses pieces adding up to 30 dollars. Save your money and rent it in a few months for 3.

Scary Movie (2000)
Extremely Raunchy and Hilarious
They did a great job with the Scream Parody. If you haven't seen the Scream movies, Blair Witch or I Know What You Did Last Summer, you won't appreciate all the jokes and you would probably be extremely lost. I think you'd pretty much have to be a moron to even watch this movie without at least seeing those movies first...though you probably wouldn't be interested in the movie in the first place!
This movie was sooo raunchy...I couldn't believe HALF of the things they did!! This will definitely be a cult classic...a MUST OWN!
A suggestion...if you haven't seen Scream in a while, rent it first. You'll appreciate this movie even more.
House on Haunted Hill (1999)
Pleasantly Surprised...Surprisingly Frightening
I have to say that I rented this movie...not knowing what to expect. I love scary movies, and this definitely frightened me. The movie kept me VERY interested and it played with your mind throughout the flick. The movie was done very well. I expected a lot of cheezy effects, but I was far off. I'm the kind of person that has a wild imagination. If I had the lights off.....I don't think I'd be able to sleep tonight.
Scream 3 (2000)
Great Trilogy
I just saw the movie, and I have to say...it was definitely a great ride. You have to look at all 3 movies as a whole and see how every piece of the puzzle fit in. It was great how this movie summed up the whole thing and brought you back to where it all started and touched on the original, base plot of the movie. The 3rd movie was very EEERRIEE, unlike the the first 2 which was just fright and horror. This had a few Nightmare on Elm Street-ish scenes, and made you feel a different form of fright.....those who saw it, know what I'm referring to.
I DID expect something at the end of the movie, that DIDN'T happen...and I was little bit disappointed, but none the less, it was a GREAT movie! They had a few different ideas in this one, and the beginning was horrifying. Well done! Can't wait to get the 3rd on DVD!
Bicentennial Man (1999)
Wonderful!
This is definitely one of the best movies I've ever seen. It was very well written, and it really touched my heart. Robin Williams definitely deserves an award for his role in this movie. The future in a span of 200 years was a great touch and they did a fabulous job of portraying it. I walked out of that movie with a great feeling and I can't wait to see it again and own it on DVD!
The Rage: Carrie 2 (1999)
Frightening
I'm really surprised that there were a lot of bad reviews on this movie. I can never tell if people just expect too much or something altogether different. It WAS NOT an exact carbon copy of the first Carrie, which somebody said. It had the same basic story and concept, but with the modern gore and effects. The "Rage" part towards the end was definitely something to remember. The thing that made this movie scary was the fact that they weren't holding back on what gore they were showing. I wasn't sure what they were going to show next....a perfect example would be the way they showed the girl jumping off the building and going head first into the windshield of a car. That was horrible.
****SPOILER****
And about the ending. If you saw the first movie, you know that they ended it with some sweet music, making you think that it was ending with a sense of peace, and then there's that SHOCK that brings you to reality. They did the same thing with this movie, and what made it worse....was the fact that I actually had thoughts of them possible making a happier ending, and I'm thinking "hmmm, maybe there's actually a nice ending. He was the only one that loved her, so maybe she REALLY did come back." But then after she kissed them and stepped back, I'm thinking, "umm...something's wrong here, something's going to happen...OH ****!!!" I jumped back a mile. I never jumped so much in a movie in my life. I was expecting something, but I was afraid of what was going to happen!
Well done...I thought this was a great horror flick. I definitely recommend it for a good scare. You'll be talking about it afterwards so see it with afriend or a date!
Tommy Boy (1995)
Hilarious
This has to be one of funniest movies ever made. But you have to like the comedy of Chris Farley and David Spade. The timing and dialogue are brilliant. This is one of those movies that you could watch over and over again and still be rolling on the floor laughing!
The Blair Witch Project (1999)
Scariest movie I ever saw...hands down.
I saw the Blair Witch Project last night, and it's no lie when I tell you it's the scariest movie I ever saw, hands down. The fear of the unknown completely scares you to death. It was so life like, and so real...and that's what makes it so much worse. I recommend this to anybody that doesn't mind being absolutely frightened, and doesn't mind losing a little sleep afterwards.
A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
Great for 1984
I just saw the original for the first time in a long time, and I remembered it being a lot better! It really set the stage for the rest of the movies in the saga, so I guess it was okay. It being 1999, and seeing movies like Scream, it can be hard to watch a classic like Nightmare-1, because the acting, film, camera angles and effects are so much worse. It's a must see for those that want to know how it all started. I think the saga peaked "dreamatically" at 3 and 4, and went back down hill again.
Wild Wild West (1999)
Not Very Wild
I was definitely a little disappointed. The special effects were great, and I thought Will Smith did a great job as James West, but the movie lacked depth. The movie kinda dragged, and I found myself looking at my watch many times throughout the movie, which wasn't a good sign. This is one of those movies best watched at home rented, then paying full price in the theater.
In Dreams (1999)
One word... Creepy!
I love horror movies, but this movie had to be one of the freakiest movies I've ever seen. If you like really weird, mind altering, frightening movies...then this is the movie for you. Robert Downey Jr. plays a great psycho, and Annette Bening is definitely convincing in her role. I definitely recommend this movie, but if you have a tendency to have nightmares...steer clear of this movie. You've been warned.
Enemy of the State (1998)
Very interesting, but please explain!
I'm a very big Will Smith fan, and I think he did a great job portraying his role. The acting and plot was great, but you REALLY have to pay attention to detail in this movie or you could be lost in second. The only thing I think they could have done better was explain things a little better. If you've seen this movie, you know what I'm talking about.
Little Big League (1994)
Great! Great!
This has to be one of the best baseball films ever made, definitely. If you're a true baseball fan, and you have a passion for the sport, then this movie is definitely for you. I thought it was original, and it was a great family movie. It's all topped off with real baseball players which makes it a treat.
