The Hole (2001)
chilling well made film
24 April 2001
It's good to see a British film like this like his previous film Nick

Hamm has cast an American in the lead role but unlike Monica Potter in

Martha meet Frank Daniel and Laurence, Thora Birch is playing a British

girl and she does a wicked accent.

She is a fantastic actress and excellent here a very dark character a

long way of from the little happy girls she played in films such as

hocus pocus.

Don't want to give much away but this is a well made chilling british

film which is well worth seeing. The beginning and end are both

thumbs up from me

Now to the people who have slagged this film off you are wrong this is a

pretty good film, quite moving to. Julia Stiles rocks and she is also

very cute she gives a moving performance and I like Sean Patrick Thomas

to he's a good actor.

It's a lot better then I thought it would be. The music isn't bad i like

the song towards the end of the film I think pink sings it.

And don't you think that Sarah and Derrek made a cute couple I did

Great film
30 November 2000
This is a superb film about Blacklisting of Hollywoods writers/directors and actors. Jeff Goldblum is fantastic as Director Herbert Biebelmen who made the acclaimed film "Salt Of The City". This is a very powerful film superbly Directed by veteran Welsh film maker Karl Francis. It also features a great supporting cast. Possible Oscar noms for this film.

Nurse Betty (2000)
Renee Zellweger is superb in this brilliant moving film
13 September 2000
Well I saw Nurse Betty today and was throughly moved by it. Renee Zellwegger gives a very moving performance as Betty and it

would not surprise me if she is holding an Oscar next March.

There is a brilliant script in this clever black comedy from

"Company of men " director Neil La Bute.

I don't want to say to much about this film course i don't want

to give to much away.

Let's just say it works very well and has to be one of the best

films of the year

I could really rave on about it, all the supporting performances

are superb, from Morgan Freeman right down to Pruitt Taylor

Vince. And although a lot of people don't like Chris Rock in it,

i think he's good.

Must give a thumbs up to the music as well which will hopefully

get an Oscar nom.

But this film belongs to Renee Zellwegger the best performance

by an actress I've seen

Sleepy Hollow (1999)
A wonderful magical film
8 January 2000
Tim Burton is one of a few Directors who can not put a foot wrong. Every film he makes is a must see. I had been looking forward to Sleepy Hollow for a while and I was not disappointed.

This is everything you'd expect from Burton.

The wonderful Johnny Depp who was great in Edward Sissorhands and wonderful in Ed Wood is superb again as Ichabod Crane the Detective who has to solve the strange murders. He does a really good English accent and is very funny.

Christina Ricci in her first Burton film, (i have a feeling it won't be her last) is wonderful, she's one of my fav actresses and one of the most beautiful woman alive. She is so pretty in this film and gives an enchanting performance up there with the best.

A great supporting cast to with good turns from Michael Gambon and Christopher Walken as the headless horseman himself.

The scenery is all so beautiful it has a rather eerie feel to it.

And yet again Danny Elfman does a great score.

Sleepy Hollow isn't going to win many Oscars but it will win many hearts.

A superb film.

Diagnosis Murder (1993–2001)
A good show best thing on daytime TV
8 December 1999
Since I have been stuck that home the last few weeks I've watched a lot of TV and there is hardly anything on in the daytime on terrestial TV that is except for Diagnosis Murder which is a very funny well written and very well acted murder, mystery, comedy.

I don't watch it all the time but as it's a different story each episode tha dosen't matter.

Basically it's been something to look forward to on the days i've been stuck that home. Though I won't see it when I go back to work if i ever am that home i will do my best to watch it.

The best thing about it? Dick Van Dyke ofcourse proving he is a very funny man.

Hercules (1998–1999)
One of the best cartoons around today.
27 November 1999
I never saw the Hercules movie but I have seen loads of episodes of the TV series and it is a very funny show which adults will appreciate as well as kids.

It's quite educational in the fact that you get to know a lot about Greek Mythology.

The most astonishing thing about it is the voice over cast with the likes of Tate Donovan, French Stewart, Sandra Bernhard and James Woods among the regulars. And an amazing guest star cast which has seen everything from Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jenifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow to William Shatner and Robert Stack doing voices.

To sum up a very witty show.

Pleasantville (1998)
A masterpiece
13 March 1999
Pleasantville is a fantastic film with great effects and a wonderful script, powerful direction. But it is the acting that I really liked, it was great to see the late great JT Walsh in such a wonderful finale. Five members of the cast really shine Tobey Maguire and Reese Witherspoon are two of the most gifted actors of their generation and they are both fantastic, William H Macy and Joan all never give bad performances they play the sitcom parents to perfection and Jeff Daniels is fantastic to giving one of the most moving perforances he has ever given. They all deserved Oscar nominations, shame on The Academy for not nominating them or the film, up there with The Truman show as one of the best films of the decade.
