Les Misérables (1998)
A kinda good movie
It was good in parts, but then it strayed WAY off from the book. I'll try not to bash it... As much as I have been. I can understand, because most do, the cutting of Eponine. But Enjolras? Leaving Air-head Marius in charge of the revolution? The way that Javert acts in some parts of it either made me laugh or cry. And they still couldn't get his suicide right. Then it ends right after that... Hello? What of the wedding? Valjean dying even? Okay, I'd better stop here, but I can go on. I was a great cast with a bad script and director. If it'd been written and filmed by people who have read the UNabridged novel, it would've been better. The cast did what they could so I'll give them credit for that.
Hey, Mr. Producer! The Musical World of Cameron Mackintosh (1998)
WOW!
A GREAT line-up of actors and actresses. however with one or two bad picks, in my opinion. And they butcher some of the songs, though they had to to fit all these things into just three hours. A very, VERY good video nonetheless. :o)
Great Performances: Les Misérables in Concert (1995)
One of the Best video's I ever got!
I fell in love with the musical itself when I saw it live. This is the next best thing. It has a GREAT cast along with it. A must see for musical lovers.
