The Big Lebowski (1998)
I'm not Lebowksi, I'm the Dude, man
"It don't matter to Jesus!"
Just one of the many funny lines in this classic movie. This is a truly original movie, and it is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. In fact, this movie gets funnier every time you watch it.
Jeff Bridge's portrayal of the Dude is terrific, and in my opinion the best peformance of his career. Furthermore, I think this is John Goodman's best work. He is the perfect Vietnam veteran asshole.
Sure, the plot has some holes and is hard to follow, but that doesn't matter. This movie isnt about the plot. It's the characters and the dialogue. Some people are probably going to hate this movie because it is so confusing and weird. But my friends and I frequently watch this movie for a consistently good time.
The Head (1994)
Cool Show
This was a really interesting show, probably one of the best MTV ever had. Too bad they canceled it, because it's a hell of a lot better than watching Real World 24 hours a day. I don't remember a whole lot about the show but I remember it had a cool story with great animation.
American Pie (1999)
Funny and Real
"American Pie" may be the best teen movie ever made. The acting is great, and the story is full of heart, and very realistic. Some of the feelings the characters had were the same that I have had before, and in that sense this movie really connected with me. Not to mention it is sooooo funny. Every teenager should see "American Pie!"
Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999)
Pretty Funny
First of all I did not like the first Austin Powers movie. So when I went with my friends to see this one I decided I would go in with more of an open mind. And the movie was pretty damn funny. Especially Fat Bastard and Mini-me! They were the greatest!
Platoon (1986)
The Best War Movie I've Seen
This is the best war movie I have seen. While many regard Saving Private Ryan to be the best, I beg to differ. I really don't know which film is more accurate, but I certainly feel that this movie had much more emotion. The mood was just perfect, and very raw. I have seen this movie once, and I don't know if I could see it again, simply because it is so hard on the emotions. But if you haven't seen it yet, go out and rent it as soon as possible.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)
Great Humor
This movie is absolutely hilarious. And it is a movie you can watch over and over again, and not really get tired of it. I don't think it's quite as funny as "The Meaning of Life," but it certainly is a great piece of comedy. Oh, and John Cleese is the BEST!
GoldenEye (1995)
Stupid movie
Personally, I hated this movie. It was one of my least favorite movies I have seen. But, I don't like the Bond movies either, so I guess my judgement isn't totally fair.
However, the annoying one-liners and the total unrealism of this movie gets on my nerves. James Bond isn't supposed to be realistic, but how about that ending? That's just plain ridiculous.
The Meaning of Life (1983)
FUNNY MOVIE
This is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. The skits are so hilarious, and John Cleese is brilliant. This is just as good or better than the classic Holy Grail.
The Negotiator (1998)
It's Good
This is not the most spectacular movie to ever hit the big screen, but it is very entertaining. It's a good movie to see in the theater on a hot, summer's day. I recommend this film.
Pulp Fiction (1994)
IT ROCKS!
I absolutely love this movie! The first time I saw it, I thought it was excellent, but I didn't really get a good taste of it until watching it two more times. It's the type of movie you just have to see more than once, because of all the plot twists and turns. Tarantino's dialogue is great, and the acting is downright amazing. SAMUEL JACKSON IS UNBELIEVABLE. I really like this movie.
Jackie Brown (1997)
GOOD MOVIE!
Quentin Tarantino's latest effort, "Jackie Brown," is a very good film. It may not be action packed, but the dialogue is great and the plot is great. The cast is also quite good. You can't go wrong with Samuel L. Jackson. If you like Quentin Tarantino, you should definitely see this movie. However, if you are looking for an adrenaline rush, like "Pulp Fiction," this might not be your cup of tea.
