Al filo del hacha (1988)
don't say i didn't warn you!
watching this pointless dribble makes you think "well they must let just anyone make movies these days". it was pointless, and boring, and laughable when the crazy axe man chopped up a new victim....the plot was choppy, and took a pointless turn at the end, attempting to be interesting...*yawn* get your money's worth and rent another low budget horror film like halloween
Different Strokes (1998)
oh please make it stop....
Awful, Awful, Awful!! That's what kept repeating over and over in my head as I watched this trash. Horrible camera shots, the music was boring, the plot gave me a "been there, done that" feel, as it wasn't original in the least, and the acting made me think they just picked people off of the sidewalk and asked if they wanted to be in a film. This movie's quality in acting, wardrobe, music, plot, and everything else gives the viewer the feeling of a low-budget porno. I give it a -1/10 for wasting an hour and a half of my time.
Foxfire (1996)
excellent!
I bought this movie without ever hearing of it before. After seeing the cover and reading the back, I was intrigued. I was not disappointed in the least. Angelina Jolie is acting's best kept secret...or was at least. Now she is starting to finally get the recognition she deserves. The storyline, acting, and camera work was splendid. The bond that forms between the group of girls is touching as is the bond between Maddie and Legs. True, many may not like this movie after reading the novel, because the two are so different, but the movie is more modernized and appeals to a larger audience. The end of the movie never fails to get me choked up. 10/10.
Billy Madison (1995)
hilarious!!!!!
This movie is hands-down the funniest I have ever seen! It has perhaps the funniest bath scene in any movie: "Shampoo is better, I go on first and clean the hair!" Also me and my friends always find ourselves quoting from it "Hey sideburns, you want some of this milk?" It's a movie you can watch over and over again! 9/10
Nine 1/2 Weeks (1986)
where's the plot?!?
Seems to me that the only point in the movie is to put as much sex in a movie as can be done in an "R" movie. There really is no high point, and the plot is non-existent. This movie was clearly intended to be a shocker: "ewww I cannot believe they are doing that!!" (The food love scene). Boring, Uneventful, 1/10.
Higher Learning (1995)
the best!
I have to say that Higher Learning is one of the top 3 movies I have ever watched. It has a brilliant cast, and an equally brilliant director. Singleton shows how life in University can be. There are 3 main story lines, the skinheads, the African-Americans, and the homosexuals. I was intrigued by all of the stories, but the one that got to me the most was the storyline about Kristen, battling her feelings towards another girl. The end was great. After seeing the movie 25 times plus, I still cry. I would have given this movie an 11, but I have to settlefor 10/10.
Psycho (1998)
very well done
I feel this movie hasn't gotten the recognition that it deserves. The only good thing about the original psycho was Anthony Perkins. The rest of the characters were horribly acted and the quality was less than satisfactory. however, in the new one, I found the acting to be brilliant. Anne Heche is one of the best actresses of the time, and Julianne Moore and William H. Macy also surprised me with their acting quality. True, Vince Vhaugn was no Perkins, but he gave a decent attempt. The directing and the camera work was excellent. I couldn't have asked for a better re-make of the not-so-good original.
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998)
horrible
After sitting in the movie theatre for 10 minutes, I already wanted to leave. The only thing that kept me there was the thought that maybe it would get better. Sadly, that didn't happen. Yes, Jennifer Love Hewitt, I get the point that you have gotten breast implants. I had to look at them for most of the movie. I guess they were supposed to take people's minds off the bad acting, script and directing. I was embarrassed for the actors while watching this trash. This was one sequel that shouldn't have been made. My advice is save your money and don't watch this sorry exuse for a film.
Bound (1996)
The Best!
After watching this film, I had to watch it over and over again. It was brilliantly acted and directed. I really got into the characters, Violet and Corky are one of the best movie couples I have ever seen. The plot had so many twists and turns, I was constantly kept on my toes. You don't know what is going to happen until the last few minutes of the movie. I highly recommend this film to anyone who likes a good movie.
