Basically "You've Got Mail" meets Hallmark
Onetrack9715 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Not exactly original but we still liked it, mainly because of the leads.

Bethany wasn't so in your face "happy and smiling" all of the time. Good to see.

One of the best Hallmark movies!
halesdi14 April 2019
I really enjoyed this movie! I'm a fan of Andrew Walker. I think he has some of the best acting chops of the Hallmark leading men. Great chemistry in the leads also made this worth watching. I could watch this again!

surprising. a little
Kirpianuscus6 October 2021
Like for many others Hallmark films, nice can be the fair term for define it. But... . It is little different by what you can expect. First, for smart use of old fashion message in bottle. Second for surprising chemistry between Bethany Joy Lenz and Andrew W. Walker. Not the last, for delicate ingenuity. And for the dreps of flavor of old fashion romantic comedies of 1940's. So, surprising, it works more than well. A beautiful atmosphere, a just more than nice storytelling.

I gave this the highest score I have given for a reason
rosey-1430 August 2021
Usually Hallmark movies are a quick, enjoyable pastime but this one was far more than that.

My two favourite Hallmark actors, they had on screen chemistry and played their characters extremely well. Both usually deliver the goods, but a better than average script and a more open, big film feel, whilst maintaining the Hallmark traditions made this a cut above the rest.

Bottled with Love was AMAZING.
MovieTVRomanceFan12 June 2019
When I first heard about this movie I was unsure about it and put off watching it for some time, but now I consider it to be one of my FAVOURITE Hallmark movies. The growing relationship between Abbey and Nick was so much fun to watch and it was so delightful watching their different interactions from their time at work together to their time talking to each other online. I really enjoyed Andrew Walker as he is one of my FAVOURITE Hallmark actors and he always brings charm, fun and romance to the screen and I instantly fell for his character, Nick Everson. I swear it's so easy to fall in love with him. I loved the character, Abbey Lawrence and I felt I could really relate myself to her since I also have trouble expressing myself like she does sometimes. I really sympathise with her. I'm glad as the film progressed she really started to come out of her shell and showed off her more fun-loving and caring side since she has had such difficulty about truly opening herself up to others.

After watching this film, I'm not surprised that it has become such a huge success since I did hear from critics that it's an instant hit and it has become one of the best Hallmark movies of the year. It's truly a romantic film with a lot of sweet, fun and ADORABLE moments and the ending is truly one of the most Romantic Moments EVER. Bottled with Love is truly an inspiring film about not being afraid to put yourself out there to find love and be open to all the possibilities the world has to offer.

Overall, this was truly an amazingly romantic and inspiring film and I look forward to watching it again and again in the future.

great chemistry, lots of polka dots!

I've always loved Bethany Joy and she has great chemistry with Andrew Walker. I like that it was set in Boston. The costumes were pretty cute though I've seen better, but I did like all the polka dots!

Second Hallmark movie to get a 10 from me!
MIssM1925 April 2019
It's no surprise that Andrew Walker is a favorite. He always delivers, he is charming, funny, and attractive. Bethany Joy Lenz is also a favorite, I always feel she gives 100 percent into these characters, she is funny as well. If you have seen their previous Lifetime movie, It really feels like they play the same characters. Their chemistry is AMAZING add an original (never-seen) script and you have magic.

I may be a littled biased by these two but this is definitely a new favorite.

Good fun

A very good movie from Hallmark. A cross between the movies 'Message in a bottle' and 'You've got Mail'. Good chemistry from the lead actors and an enjoyable story.

Inspiring Romance!
joelleblue16 April 2019
Really enjoyed this one! Andrew Walker and Bethany Joy Lenz were outstanding and the story line was inspiring. It was so much fun to watch and get totally lost in. They had amazing chemistry and made you believe that opening up your heart can lead to wonderful things and a beautiful love if you just take a chance. Will watch again!

Flawed but open...this was a sweet romance with a wonderful message in a bottle premise.
cgvsluis7 March 2022
Abby is a working girl who is still trying to figure everything out. After getting stood up again at a wedding her aunt convinces her write a letter to love, put it in a bottle and throw it in the sea.

In this letter that she threw in to the Boston Harbor...Abby really opened up for the first time ever. In a big coincidence her boss' son finds her letter in Alaska and her boss wants to pair Abby and his son Nick together so a little of her hard work and drive will rub off on Nick.

When Nick reads the letter of an anonymous woman, he emails her which starts what becomes a beautiful pen pal relationship between two strangers.

Their real-life relationship in which they are actually working together is a little bumpy.

It was a little you-got-mail lite, but still really enjoyable. The leads were very cute together and made for a fun hallmark romances.

SURPRISINGLY DELIGHTFUL!!
susanmnorth14 April 2019
KUDOS to all the performances. Both leads incredible and I hope to see both of them in more! All supporting performances also strong and that the made this movie surprisingly delightful. The storyline of course a bit predictable but the energy and chemistry kept it fun. It moves along at a good pace an I'm glad I watched it.

You've Got Bottle
SnoopyStyle26 August 2019
Closed off businesswoman Abbey Lawrence (Bethany Joy Lenz) gets stood up again. Her aunt Francis suggests following her dad in writing a letter in a bottle and sending it out into the world. Three months later, fisherman Nick Everson (Andrew W. Walker) finds the bottle in Alaska. He happens to be the son of her boss. He's asked to return to Boston for his sister Sophie's wedding and work with Abbey on her project. It's a semi-setup and neither side is happy. Meanwhile, they unknowingly become email pen pals over the bottle.

The premise is a little cheesy but surprisingly effective. There is the expectation of an eventual meet up. It would have been much better if they fight in business and be the perfect couple online. It would be "You've Got Mail", and all the better for it. The closer they become in business. The less intensity is their confrontation and the less reason there is for him to skip their first meeting. This is set up for the classic rom-com but it veers slightly away. The couple is still adorable and it's still good for a Hallmark romance.

Not better than average.
savethewatchmaker7 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Honestly, I was baffled with all the rave reviews this movie received. It fell a little flat for me, and didn't stand out as anything other than fairly average Hallmark fare. The acting chops of both Andrew Walker as Nick and Bethany Joy Lenz as Abbey were well done and believably performed, but the script and story itself did absolutely nothing to draw me in, possibly because my suspension of disbelief was snapped fairly on after a string of truly inconceivable coincidences. The chances that Abbey's message in a bottle, thrown into the Boston harbor, would wind up on a beach in Maine and be found by a man who is both age-appropriate and soon to be her coworker, is simply too fantastical an idea to entertain. More likely would have been that a retired fisherman finds Abbey's letter.

On top of that, Abbey as a character was hard to like. Although well-portrayed by Bethany Joy Lenz, Abbey was simply not a charming character. Her snap decision to block her online companion after he couldn't make it to their meeting felt rash and incredibly immature, like the rash reaction of a middle schooler to being rejected (after all, it's not like he stood her up without a word). Also, what on earth was going on with her wardrobe choices? She went from slightly vintage inspired, to frumpy secretary from the 80s, to wearing a denim jacket in a professional meeting. Those reading glasses! Those unflattering shapeless blazers! Bethany Joy Lenz's previous Hallmark movies definitely did her more favors in both the hair and fashion department.

Meanwhile, I was struggling to understand why Andrew Walker's character, Nick, was called back to his father's company for a "temporary position" at all. It was as if the company was swamped with so much work that he was a dire addition, but all he seems to do is accompany Abbey on a few potential acquisitions (the majority of which he botches or doesn't prepare for). Was it really necessary for him and Abbey to have an antagonistic real life relationship while their online one was thriving? I know that Hallmark adores the trope of giving their love interests a rough and tumble start that slowly warms up as the movie goes on, but it's personally much more refreshing to see characters genuinely enjoying each other's company and chemistry from the get-go.

The ultimate conflict in the movie was a surprise as I had been predicting different outcomes for the two of them figuring out each other's online identities. When Nick ended up confessing to Abbey directly who he was, I was surprised by her anger, which would have been much more justified if she had found out from a source other than Nick himself. Hallmark has a serious problem with winding realistic, plausible conflict into the climax of their stories, and this movie was no exception. Perhaps the only thing worse than their contrived argument over Nick being ReelTraveler was the fact that the movie ended with the entire wedding party and all the guests clapping at Nick and Abbey's kiss from a distance.

And lastly, while more of a nitpick than anything else: the characters reading aloud their texts as they're typing them felt wildly uncomfortable. Background voice-overs being used consistently throughout the movie would've been a much better choice.

Watch for Bethany
musicalfreakgurl7 October 2019
Bethany Joy Lenz has been a favorite actress of mine since One Tree Hill. (I love that show) She's got the acting chops. I will literally watch anything she's in.

She can lead anyone. These two actually had chemistry that didn't come off as wooden or bland.

Andrew was a good hero, one that can keep up with Bethany and he should he's a Hallmark veteran.

Please make a sequel to this and make everyone happy!

Another You've Got Mail
Jackbv12330 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This is getting to be a well used trope, but in this case it is done well. Bethany Joy Lenz and Andrew J Walker appear to be having fun with their parts playing off one another. As always in this genre, the leads have to have antagonism at the start. I wish that could have been done without Abbey being so cold and withdrawn, but then it also gave her a chance to grow as a person.

At least the movie didn't have the line "I hoped it would be you."

I also liked that there weren't so many loose ends that had to be tied up in HEA's.

Bethany
krichter-247242 June 2019
I loved bottled with love. I think it is one of hallmarks better movies. I was getting bored with hallmark until bottled with love came along. Bethany is a bright shinning star, so cute, pretty and natural. Great acting. So bubbly. Please make more movies with her. I liked this movie so much I taped it and watch it over and over. Please bring back Lacey chabert, I miss her. Do a sequel 4 to all of my heart. Thanks. Get rid of Fiona, Taylor Cole and becca Tobin.

Bottled with Love
jzh-3107925 May 2019
For all the publicity of this movie, I think it was okay. Way to cutesy and silly for my taste. Andrew Walker was in Christmas in Tennessee, much better story line. Also had a good cast. Bottled with Love is on TV the time, tired of hearing about it.

I liked it.
linda-plant211 August 2019
Andrew Walker always delivers. He has to be a good actor to deliver the lines in the cheesy Hallmark scripts. Do guys in the US act like that ? really ? A nice idea, but here in the UK we are a tad more cynical, but Hallmark do give us an escapist couple of hours, so I'm not complaining. And not when Wes Brown, Andrew Walker, Barry Watson et al are on screen.

As for this film, well, yes, it was another version of You've got Mail, but enjoyable nevertheless.

So so!
marsmii14 April 2019
Good storyline, at least there was some variation from most of W's movies. Love Andrew Walker, good looking and he nails it every time👍🏻 But the female lead was all wrong, totally unlikeable, not even pretty! I skipped over most of the movie because of her. There needs to be some chemistry between the leads--difficult to have any with her! People don't change that quickly, so she was totally unbelievable!

a Delightful Love Story, Original and Well-Acted
omijer14 April 2019
Bottled With Love is one of the most original stories that Hallmark has provided its viewers. It bypasses all the Hallmark cliches that prevail in most of channel's films. This story presents two strong leading characters, each with his and her own identity clearly defined. The plot is highly original, although at some point, there is a "You've Got Mail" aspect to the story. Fortunately, there is enough originality to make this film appealing and charming in its own way.

The leads are mature, experienced actors. Bethany Joy Lenz gives her character a consistent identity, clear and appropriate emotions, and a wide range of facial expressions. She presents a mature, well-defined professional woman who expresses her emotions with consistent clarity.

Andrew Walker is a gift to any Hallmark movie..He is such a skilled actor. His style of expressing his emotions is so articulate and so engaging. He is alive with emotion ..in his eyes, his smile, his frowns, his body posture..in every scene. There has not been one Hallmark movie that he has not captivated the viewer and played his role expertly.

One small issue..purely esthetic..Bethany Joy Lenz could have used a better hair stylist this film, as her hair was often too casually unkempt and almost unattractive for the high-level professional woman she portrayed..Her manner of dress was perfect for each scene and each occasion, but her hair was a bit off the mark for a woman of her maturity and successful professional status.

all in all a wonderful, original, well-written movie with some truly fine acting.

Bottled with Love
studioAT24 October 2022
This is one of those lovely Hallmark films you take a chance on and they creep up on you with surprising good quality.

I thought this was great. A good story, well told, and with a cast on good form. It steals very liberally from the old 'You've Got Mail' formula, but manages to put its own spin on it that is fresh.

It had more about it too than the standard Hallmark channel original film too, with some nice twists along the way.

It of course does follow their normal formula, but when it's as well played out as it is here, there's really no stopping the channel for quality.

Very good indeed.

This is a Hallmark Gem! I loved this storyline. The main characters were very likable and funny. Bethany Joy Lenz (I am a forever fan of Haley James Scott!) was so good in this film, she has great comedic timing and I just love her. Her character dressed so cute! Very feel good movie with depth, a MUST see!

The perfect use of memorable moments
peterkoch-9811419 April 2024
Oh how one dimensional some critics are about this movie! Start with Message in a Bottle (a book and movie); then of course shades of You've Got Mail! Solid, famous chapters from love stories underpinning a new release of good ideas. But you left out the wedding scene from Working Girl (fishing+dance). Proof that love is not a new concept and that how this film gives a rich and exciting three course meal that, when you get up from the table, you are completely satisfied.

We have two of the best actors from a well known stable that in this film supply us with the tension and tease for the right outcome, because they made us care. For believability, the whole cast was interesting and helpful in making older stories appear refreshed and new. Not for one second did I let these thoughts interfere with the enjoyment given by the writer and actors of a well directed movie. Although its nice knowing a solid pedigree underpins this story, criticise me if you feel I'm wrong, but I'm looking to watching this one again.

This film ticks all the boxes and gets a deserving 7.0 which for me is the gold standard of Romance/Christmas films.

A bad wannabe You've Got Mail
ragnarpoulsen27 February 2021
The acting is pretty decent. But it is a total rip off of You've Got Mail! The characters aren't all that believable and the scenario is often pretty awkward but at times it is a little sweet... or not, depends on what you are used to. If you are used to Meg and Tom it is a hard miss! You've Got Mail was the right way to update The Shop Around The Corner, this was not the right way to update You've Got Mail which is a great movie. And at the time this was written You've Got Mail was at a 6,7 while this movie was at a 7,2! Are you kidding me!
