Joey King Once Went Candid About Reuniting With Ex-Boyfriend Jacob Elordi For The Kissing Booth 2!(Photo Credit –IMDb)
The Kissing Booth film series, starring Joey King and Jacob Elordi, has often been termed a cult classic by rom-com lovers. However, recently, Elordi discredited the franchise by saying he didn’t want to make those films. His criticism of the trilogy did not go down well with many Hollywood stars, including his co-star, King, who has now said that it’s unfortunate that anyone would feel that way.
Joey and Jacob starred as love interests in the Kissing Booth movies. The three-part film series ran from 2018 to 2021. The lead pair dated in real life from 2017 to 2018, and their whirlwind romance grabbed many eyeballs, with tabloids dubbing them as the new power couple of Hollywood. Jacob Elordi's résumé is impressive, given the actor's relatively short career. Born and raised in Brisbane, Australia, Elordi always knew he wanted to be an actor. According to a 2022 GQ cover story, he idolized actors like Marlon Brando and Heath Ledger, which sparked his interest in performing. At the age of 12, he started acting in school plays, and by the time he was 17, he landed his first film gig as an extra in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" (2017), per Just Jared. The following year, he starred in "Swinging Safari" and Netflix's "The Kissing Booth," which launched him into stardom in an instant and opened many doors for him to star in other works, including the acclaimed HBO series by Sam Levinson, "Euphoria," which will return for a third season in 2025.

Netflix’s “One Piece” has a colorful, vibrant cast filled newcomers like Iñaki Godoy, who plays as Monkey D. Luffy, and some more seasoned actors like Vincent Regan, who plays Vice Admiral Garp. Netflix put in the work (seven years to be exact) to craft its live adaption of the bestselling manga series.
When “One Piece” creator Eiichiro Oda first saw Godoy, he knew that was his Luffy. Each of the cast members have created their own connection to their characters, and some loved and grew up watching them on screen as children.
Longtime anime fan Emily Rudd, who plays Nami, described her character as a member of the Staw Hats who sevves “like an older sister surrounded by a group of young brothers.” Mackenyu, who is Japanese, grew up idolizing his character Roronoa Zoro. Netflix released a treasure trove of data on its most popular movies and series that threw new light onto just how incredibly popular some of its offerings have been. What’s more, the streamer committed to doing so on a weekly basis. The weekly data will reflect total hours viewed, rather than the company’s previous metric of at least two minutes of watch time counting as a “household view.”
Deadline curated running lists of the most popular Netflix shows and movies by household views up until the metrics changed in Nov. 2021. You can see them here.
Given the streamer’s switch to total hours viewed as its core metric, we’ve created new tallies of its most-watched movies and series on Netflix. Those lists are below and, unlike the Netflix listings, they blend both English and non-English fare into one definitive list each for TV and movies. Release dates are listed for context.

Netflix is making a major shift in how the company reports viewership data for its content, shifting to a metric that is more closely aligned with traditional TV metrics.
As part of its third-quarter earnings release on Tuesday, the streaming giant disclosed it will soon begin reporting viewership stats measured as the total number of hours viewed of a program during its first 28 days on the platform. For years, Netflix has only reported the number of households who watched at least a small portion of a program.
In Netflix’s new measure, its global hit “Bridgerton” generated 625 million hours of viewing across the platform in its first month on Netflix, a run that began Dec. 25, 2020. That compares to 82 million member households sampling some portion of the show, as Netflix revealed in January. In Tuesday’s shareholders letter, Netflix notes that the “Squid Game” phenomenon has been sampled by some 142 million member households.

Netflix revealed Tuesday that it plans to shake up the way it measures and releases ratings data.
The streamer, in reporting its third quarter financials, noted that it will switch to reporting on hours viewed for its shows and movies rather than the number of households or accounts that choose to watch them.
This comes after it revealed that 142 million households have watched at least two minutes of Korean smash hit Squid Game.
“There is some difference in rankings… but we think engagement as measured by hours viewed is a slightly better indicator of the overall success of our titles and member satisfaction. It also matches how outside services measure TV viewing and gives proper credit to rewatching,” the company stated in a letter to shareholder.
The company also promised more transparency in the future, outside of its earnings reports, “so our members and the industry can better measure success in the streaming world.

Taylor Zakhar Perez doesn’t like lying. But that’s what he was forced to do while he was promoting “The Kissing Booth 2” when he was asked about a third movie. Perez feigned ignorance and pretended like he didn’t have any intel.

It's the end of an era, and it's never easy to say goodbye.
Netflix's original romantic comedies The Kissing Booth and To All the Boys were popular since they began in 2018, but both high-school rom-coms closed out their adventures this year.
Based on teenage writer Beth Reekle's novels, The Kissing Booth franchise has been a hit. In the first two Netflix films, we watched Noah and Elle's secret love affair and how they dealt with long-distance when tempted with other crushes.
In The Kissing Booth 3, Elle Evans made one of the hardest decisions of her life and chose where to attend college and broke one of the Flynn brothers' hearts.
Picking up around two months after The Kissing Booth 2, a series of romantic montages caught us up on the lives of Noah and Elle and Lee and Rachel before heading into the film's main arc.

Netflix’s “The Kissing Booth” franchise began with sexist and retrograde attitudes toward its high school-age lead characters, then evolved into a collection of romantic tropes and tricks that give the genre a bad name. Now we are left with the final insult: Three films in, this series still doesn’t get its leading lady. In the face of icky writing, limp directing, awful pacing, horrific green screen, and terrible jokes, star Joey King spent three film adaptations of Beth Reeckles’ YA novels injecting heart and humor into her Elle Evans. Still,

It's hard to watch Netflix's The Kissing Booth 2 without admiring Elle and Lee's friendship. Their epic dance skills, video game podcast, and unwavering support for one another are a few of the highlights from the films. While they go through their ups and downs in both the original and the sequel, they've always got each other's back. Nonetheless, the franchise's second to last installment definitely puts their relationship to the test. Lee navigates boundaries between his first serious girlfriend and his lifelong best friend, while Elle questions where her next step should lead - to Uc Berkeley with Lee, or to Harvard with her boyfriend (and Lee's brother), Noah.
As they face these challenges and their senior year of high school, one thing doesn't change: their strict list of rules for friendship. Sometimes proving to be the cause of their problems, other times the solution, these governing laws...

Zack Snyder’s zombie epic “Army of the Dead” is off to a strong start on Netflix, as the streamer reports (via Deadline) that the movie is expected to be viewed by 72 million households over its first four weeks of release. That number puts “Army of the Dead” in the number 10 spot on the list of biggest Netflix original openings. “Army of the Dead” opened to the same household views as George Clooney’s “The Midnight Sky,” which launched over the Christmas holiday last year. It’s important to note that Netflix recognizes a “view” as any subscriber who watched two minutes of the movie’s runtime.
The strong opening for “Army of the Dead” is good news for Snyder, who intends to launch a new franchise for the streamer with his Dave Bautista-starring action movie. Two “Army”-connected films are already in development at Netflix, one is an...

Netflix knows what the people want and is ready to give it to us! Well, in due time. A mere two days after the premiere of The Kissing Booth 2 in July 2020, cast members Joey King, Joel Courtney, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Taylor Zakhar Perez, and Meganne Young announced that a third film was not only coming, but had already been filmed! Nearly a year later, we finally have a release date: Aug. 11.
While the cast have been hush-hush on what exactly the film will focus on, we already have a good idea. A special first look at the film shows Elle (King), Noah (Jacob Elordi), Lee (Courtney), and Rachel (Young) at the Flynn house the summer after graduation. Elle is dodging calls from Harvard admission, which means she still hasn't decided where she wants to go for college and hasn't told anyone about having been accepted to both Harvard and Berkeley.

Exclusive: WME and Anonymous Content have signed young actor Taylor Zakhar Perez, who is coming off of a breakout role on the Vince Marcello-helmed hit Netflix franchise The Kissing Booth.
Based on the YA novel by Beth Reekles, the teen rom-com follows the romantic adventures of Elle, played by Joey King, her bad-boy boyfriend Noah (Jacob Elordi), and her best friend Lee (Joel Courtney). Perez first appeared in last year’s Kissing Booth 2, in the role of Marco, a handsome, charismatic new classmate who complicates Elle’s love journey.

George Clooney has been keeping a relatively low profile over the last few years, having not starred in a movie for close to half a decade before The Midnight Sky was released on Netflix three weeks ago. The existential sci-fi is comfortably the biggest project he’s ever directed with a budget of $100 million, but the reception has been lukewarm to say the least.
The literary adaptation currently holds a 52% score on Rotten Tomatoes, coming in for plenty of praise for the visuals and the leading man’s performance, but the slow pace of the narrative and struggles to strike a consistent tone have left others feeling cold. It continues a directorial career that’s been marked by inconsistency, but The Midnight Sky is proving to be a massive hit for the streaming service.

It’s only fitting that in 2020 — the year of the coronavirus — Netflix’s top titles include stand-up comedies, “sad movies” and “home baking shows.”
The streaming giant released year-end viewing trends on Thursday that also showed that October was the biggest month for comedy consumption, with audiences seeking to quell pre-election anxiety. “Hubie Halloween,” “The Wrong Missy,” “Space Force,” “Holidate” and “Kevin Hart: Zero Fucks Given” were the most popular comedy titles of the year.
In the three weeks following George Floyd’s death at the hands of Minneapolis police, viewing soared for titles that reflected the Black experience: “13th” saw the most growth, with viewing up more than 5,000%. “LA 92,” “Dear White People,” “Time: The Kalief Browder Story” and “American Son” views also skyrocketed.

The following month, searches for sad movies spiked nearly 30%, while subscribers were also calling out for stand-up shows between March and April. October was our biggest month for comedy viewing generally. Hubie Halloween,...

Netflix has confirmed “The Queen’s Gambit” is its biggest scripted limited series in history, launching to a record-breaking 62 million households over its first 28 days of release, the streamer claims. That opening number figure puts “The Queen’s Gambit” in the same league as some of Netflix’s biggest original movie debuts, including “The Kissing Booth 2” and “The Irishman.” The Scott Frank-created series starring Anya Taylor-Joy has also proven to be a hit overseas, cracking the streamer’s top 10 list in 92 countries and ranking number one in 63 countries, including the UK, Argentina, Israel, and South Africa. It’s also inspired sales of chessboards to skyrocket.

As the market leaders in the streaming wars, Netflix are expected to deliver the best original content in an effort to maintain their unassailable lead ahead of the competition. And for the most part, they’ve succeeded. This summer in particular proved to be an unqualified win for them, with countless movies earning rave reviews and scoring massive viewership numbers.
The likes of The Old Guard, Project Power, Extraction, Da 5 Bloods, Spenser Confidential, The Devil All the Time, Enola Holmes, The Kissing Booth 2 and Hubie Halloween offered something for everyone, catering to virtually all audiences and demographics from R-rated action to family friendly capers via PG-13 comedies and fluffy romances.
However, one genre that Netflix haven’t yet managed to conquer is horror. The Haunting anthology may be one of the platform’s marquee TV shows, but the original feature film library is somewhat lacking when it comes to genuine scares.

‘Mixed-ish,’ ‘Shark Tank’ and ‘John Oliver’ Win Top Prizes at Environmental Media Association Awards
“The Kissing Booth 2” star Taylor Zakhar Perez made his awards show debut on Thursday during the 30th annual Environmental Media Association Awards.
“This is my very first awards show, albeit virtually, but what isn’t virtual these days,” the actor said before presenting the top documentary television series award to “Activate” for its episode “Ending Plastic Pollution.” “Virtual meetings, virtual dates, virtual workouts, even virtual cooking classes and little by little our lives are basically recorded 24/7 as if we’re living in a real-life documentary — featuring a weekly nasal swab.”
The EMAs, held virtually this year and hosted by Lance Bass, honor Hollywood productions and individuals for their support of environmental storylines and environmental justice.
“As much as we’re in a period of devastation, we’re in a period of unexpected healing,” said Ema CEO Debbie Levin. “Caring about the different generations of our family has opened our...

Though Netflix has been handing out a healthy amount of renewals lately, ordering up new seasons of everything from Ozark to The Last Kingdom, they’ve also been getting rid of a lot of popular shows. In fact, just hours ago they brought down the axe on I Am Not Okay With This and The Society.
While neither are exactly what you’d call Aaa must-watch titles for the platform, both series have been well received, earning strong reviews and finding sizeable fanbases. Furthermore, both had already been renewed, too. But now, Netflix has decided to change their mind.
While their decision seemingly stems from Covid-related circumstances, the internet is still not happy about it and below, you can see just a sample of what folks are saying. Suffice it to say, they’re furious at the streaming giant for cancelling these two shows.
One Season??? One??? This Is All We Get?...

Director Vince Marcello knows fans can not get enough of “The Kissing Booth,” and not long after Netflix released the film’s much-anticipated sequel, “The Kissing Booth 2,” it was announced that a third installment had already been shot.
Marcello says, “Although “The Kissing Booth” is a romantic comedy, the heart of it is a coming of age story.” He reveals the third film “is the culmination of this coming of age story — not just for Elle, but for Noah and Lee, as well. Although their paths are entwined, each has their own journey with a set of challenges that they need to overcome before closing the chapter of their lives that was adolescence and beginning their new journey into adulthood.”
The director behind one of Netflix’s most successful franchises and responsible for the rise of stars Joey King, Taylor Zahar Perez and Jacob Elordi, adds, “I’m most...
