The scene where Scrooge and Ma Beagle climb the garbage pile to go after the lamp and each grab one end of it is based off the scene of Scrooge and Glomgold climbing a stone pillar from the episode Master of the Djinni (1987) from the original DuckTales (1987), which like with DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990) was also the only other adventure from the original series to also involve a genie.
The character D'jinn is a re-imagined version of Dijon, a character from the original DuckTales (1987) whose name was changed in the reboot to make it sound more arabic. In this series D'jinn is an adventurer and ally of Scrooge McDuck, in contrast to Dijon who was a thief and minor villain. LIke with D'jinn, Dijon also first appeared in a genie-themed adventure DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990) (and he also appeared in 3 episodes during the original series' final season). Also for the reboot, D'jinn is portrayed as a jackal-themed character instead of a dog-themed character like Dijon was.
The episode's title is based off DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990), a theatrical film based off the Original DuckTales (1987).
D'jinn's name is based off the word Djinn, another word for genie.
During the flashback, Djinn describes the genie as a muscular figure in a blue outfit and shackles on his wrists, referencing the appearance of Genie in the animated Disney film Aladdin (1992) and it's 2019 live action reboot.
