The building of the Channel Tunnel, one of the engineering wonders of modern times.
An interesting documentary on the building of the Channel Tunnel. Shows the planning, construction, completion and aftermath. Most of all it shows the problems that had to be overcome and the ingenious ways these were surmounted. Also has interviews with people involved, from tunnellers to engineers and planners, giving an indication of the human side of the project.
Not 100% satisfying though. The documentary could have done with more detail: it's as if they tried to cram everything into a 1-hour package and then just concentrated on the earlier parts of the project. Some of the interviews were quite pointless, with trite sporting-metaphor-type conversations.
Overall, worth watching from an educational point of view, to get a basic understanding into what was a monumental feat.
