Food Network veteran Duff Goldman is recovering from a car crash in the Los Angeles area last week that crushed his dominant right hand, requiring stitches. He says it was caused by a drunken driver who “swerved into my lane on a windy country road.”
The Cake Masters star and Charm City Cakes owner told People today that he was being driven home from Lax when another car hit him head-on. He said he was left with a bad hand injury that will require a specialist’s care.
“It definitely doesn’t work,” he told the magazine about his hand. “And I need it to, because that’s all I got.”
He said he’s publicizing the incident because he wants to fans and social media followers not to drink and drive.

Discovery’s cable powerhouses Food Network and HGTV are undergoing a management shuffle as the company prepares to merge with WarnerMedia in a deal that is expected to close in April.
HGTV veteran Jane Latman is taking over management of Food Network in addition to the home-focused lifestyle cabler. Courtney White is exiting her post as president of Food Network to launch a new content banner, Butternut Films.
“Jane has more than proven her leadership skills at HGTV where, so far this year, she leads the industry in launching six of the top 20 freshman hits among ages 25-54 — more than any other cable network,” Kathleen Finch, chief lifestyle brands officer of Discovery, said in a statement. “She is the perfect choice to lead our important food and home content businesses and I’m confident she will bring the same creative magic to Food Network that she has to HGTV.”

Food Network’s star chefs not only serve up delicious recipes, but they also link food with emotion and something deeper to which the audience can connect. Since March 2020, when Covid forced the world to stay indoors, more people than ever before turned to food and cooking in order to occupy their time.
The subsequent economic turmoil also threw into sharp relief widespread food insecurity across the U.S. The Food Network is not new to this revelation and has been working for years to end hunger in this country. Well-known chefs such as José Andrés continue their miraculous work via World Central Kitchen, Guy Fieri feeds first responders in California and Marc Murphy serves on the council of City Harvest. And the cabler’s entire stable of stars is also contributing to the cause.

The upcoming premiere of Buddy vs. Duff on the Food Network will feature a competition between Cake Boss reality star Buddy Valastro and his fellow baker, Duff Goldman of Cake Masters.
But no matter who wins, Valastro will come out ahead. That’s because he thought at one time he’d never bake again after a gruesome injury to his hand.
The two-hour premiere of Buddy vs. Duff arrives this Sunday, and will kick off with Valastro sharing updates on his recovery. The freak accident that damaged his wrist happened at his home bowling alley last September, with a metal rod impaling him as he tried to fix a jam.
That resulted in multiple surgeries and having to learn to decorate using his non-dominant hand at times. Even so, the loss of strength in his main arm made it difficult to do the many tasks required to bake elaborate cakes,...

The summer movie season, as we usually know it, isn’t happening this year, with few big releases planning to drop over the next couple of months, even if cinemas are just starting to reopen. Instead, then, it’s falling on Netflix and the various other streaming services to pull their weight and give movie lovers a range of new content to feast on. Thankfully, July isn’t looking too shabby for original films and TV, not to mention lots of classics or underrated gems appearing on all the usual sites.
Of course, Netflix has the most original output coming across next month. TV fans, in particular, have got much to look forward to, including season 2 of The Umbrella Academy. In fact, it’s a good month for fantasy series based off comic books all-round, as we’ve also got Arthurian retelling Cursed and super-powered action show Warrior Nun coming as well.

With so many streaming services to choose from, it can often be difficult to find the right one to spend your hard-earned dough on. That being said, Hulu has remained among the most exciting and content-heavy platforms alongside Netflix, really cementing itself as one of the most appealing options out there in recent years thanks to its collection of original content and very, very deep library of licensed films.
Like every other streaming service, they bring us new titles every month and July is looking to be quite a good one. Especially if you’re a horror fan. Admittedly, Hulu has always been pretty reliable when it comes to this particular genre, and that’s a reputation they seem intent to keep, as next month will bring us the likes of The Devil’s Rejects, Freddy vs. Jason, Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare, House of 1000 Corpses, The Ninth Gate, The House That Jack Built...

Perhaps the most exciting piece of content coming to Hulu in July 2020 is…a movie? Remember those? You would buy a ticket and then go sit in a dark room with other people eating Buncha Crunch. Sounds wild!
Yes, more and more feature films are turning to streaming services for their summer releases. And with their list of new offerings for July 2020, Hulu got itself a big fish. Palm Springs is a Groundhog Day-style comedy starring Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti as star-crossed lovers forced to live the same day over and over again. It premieres on Hulu on July 10.
And that’s not the only original movie coming to Hulu in July. Romanian crime thriller The Whistlers premieres on July 2. Sasheer Zamata comedy The Weekend follows on July 15. Then Hulu caps the month off with the Julia Garner-starring The Assistant on July 20. There’s good movie news...

With so many streaming services available now, it can often be hard to pick the right one to spend your hard-earned money on. However, Hulu has remained among the most successful and content-heavy platforms alongside Netflix and has only gotten better with age.
