Susie has so many issues. She's the fulcrum here. She is being pushed around by the bigwigs and her other commitment (and Strindberg). Midge finally hits the road, a bundle of nerves, and little experience in the new venue. Abe and wife are on their way to new digs, not knowing what the future brings. But there is chemistry brewing as the final moments show. Stay with this. It's going to work out.

Worth the view just for one line

Warning: Spoilers
The whole diner scene was, I swear, the best use of flashback I have ever seen. This guy commits to baby making attempts every 15 minutes.

If you are a Maiesleolphile like me, this was like a great crescendo. The whole idea of the series is right here. It's not that kids are jerks, it's just that they come with no guarantee or warranty.

So now, Lenny, Benjamin, and Mei, are all just background noise. I'm at 3.6.

Sorry if I spoil or turn out to be wrong. "I'm gonna be a father!"

More yuks, less ... bickering

Warning: Spoilers
Seems like proportion of contrived conflict v humor is way off in these first three episodes. Maybe it's just me, but I don't care THAT much about the Weissmans having to downsize or live with Joel's parents. These first three just seem like constant bickering in circles. And I'm still getting used to Sterling K. Brown as a heavy. I do think the Joel - Mei relationship has potential; Stephanie Hsu energized the show from her first moment in the club space.

What happened?

So far season 3 is not funny and the staccato humor between characters is just all noise and argumentative. Borstein is sad and pathetic. She was once tough and a dominant, steady force. The prolétariats taking over the house was all but annoying. Paris and the Catskills in Season 2 were funny and smart. I do not know if it is the storylines or the writing? Maybe it has just run out of steam. Or writers in search of new material? I will give it a few more episodes but so far "the thrill is gone." Maybe this is just an introduction into something interesting - some surprise - awaiting us in the episodes to come. I feel like the fireworks just got wet. Hope they dry off soon. I will be patient a bit longer. Looks like Joel will be getting more attention and sympathy. But this show needs the once brilliance of Brosnahan, Borstein, and Shalhoub for it to shine once again. Fingers crossed.

Kitchen scene saved this episode

Warning: Spoilers
Watching Midge bomb in the "big room" was more cringeworthy than anything else.

Fortunately, she recovered when she performed in the smaller room.

The scene in the kitchen where Midge cooked, and Shy eventually came in was quite endearing.

I wish SOMEONE could explain why they initially said that Moishe owned the apartment Midge lived in, but then changed it to being owned by Columbia University.
