Violence & Gore

  • A monster's eye socket is hit by a pole, blood sprays out. The eyeball is then ripped out as a bloody chunk of meat, blood sprays everywhere. The monster then falls off a building, spraying blood.
  • A character gets hit by magical powers.
  • Someone gets their face ripped in half, brief and not graphic.
  • A woman gets crushed by a pillar; only a part of her hand is shown.
  • Two characters have a fistfight. It is not very bloody and neither character is severely harmed.
  • Several people are shown burning to death.
  • A man gets thrown out of a window, crashing the glass upon impact, falling off a big cliff while he keeps screaming, and ultimately landing on the spikes of a fence, thus getting graphically impaled. A small amount of black blood is seen around the injury. Probably the most shocking and disturbing scene in terms of graphic violence.
  • Probably the most graphic Marvel film to date

Profanity

  • A few uses of "shit", "ass", "bitch" and "damn".
  • '*ss' is said at least once.
  • 'B*tch' is said at least once.
  • 'D*mn' is said atleast once.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A few alcoholic drinks at a wedding. No one gets drunk.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Many very creepy scenes involving a witch and sorcerers.
  • A few jumpscares.
  • Perhaps the darkest and scariest MCU film to date with fantasy and magic based horror elements.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • At the beginning of the movie a decomposing body is briefly shown numerous times. Later in the movie, it gets reanimated.
  • At the start of the movie, an alternate doctor strange gets impaled in his leg by a monster. It is shown in full detail a few seconds later.
  • The souls of the damned are floating, grotesque, skeletal creatures that attach themselves to the reanimated Doctor Strange like a cloak.
  • A man is violently killed by Wanda. He is lifted into the air and torn into strips, similar to paper through a paper shredder. He can be heard screaming in agony. No blood is shown. There is a slight cartoonesqe aspect to the death, but it is still a very violent and disturbing death.
  • During her attack on Kamar-Taj, Scarlet Witch uses her magic to torture several of the wizards to get Wong to reveal the secrets of the Dark Hold. She can be seen lifting up several of the wizards from the ruins with her magic, and they can then be seen writhing and screaming in agony. Wong eventually complies, and she lets them go. Somewhat brief and not very graphic, but still potentially disturbing.
  • A super powered character's own power is turned against him. This causes his head to implode. His skull blows caves in, his brain spills out of his head, blood spurts from his nose, his eyes puff up and fill with blood. Most disturbing part of the film, but he is wearing a suit covering most of his head, so most is not as graphic.
  • Wanda forces a shield through Peggy Carter, cutting her in half. When Peggy falls she can be seen sliced in half, but her death is not that visible as it is blurred out.
  • Wanda and Professor X engage in a mind battle, Wanda overpowers him and brutally slaughters him by snapping his neck and ripping his face off, although we do not see his face being ripped off it is partly shown afterwards as he drops dead.
  • During Wanda's attack on Kamar-Taj, she uses her magic to kill many of the sorcerers while destroying Kamar-Taj in the process. She lands down onto the temple and blasts several sorcerers away, one of which she completely disintegrates. The camera pans over to a burning dead corpse which is shown briefly however it isn't blurred and may frighten younger audiences.
  • Wanda has her body in pieces, she has to regrow her limbs. One of the most disturbing scenes.
  • During the Illuminati fight scene, Wanda is covered in oil of some of the Ultron Sentries, however, those who miss the Ultron Sentries, may think she's covered in blood. The contrast is very low, and her appearance is similar to the scene where Homelander is covered in blood in The Boys.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The Zombie version of Doctor Strange have bones sticking out, and half of the face is injured in gory detail.
  • Wanda's looks in the multiverse may be frightening for some people.
  • In a scene, possessed Wanda appears suddenly behind Professor X and rips his head in half from left to right. However it's extremely hard to see the full detail of the shot as it happens so quickly.
  • At the very end of the movie, Doctor Strange is walking down the street. He starts screaming in agony and collapses suddenly, and a third eye opens on his forehead, a result of him using the Dark Hold. May be shocking/disturbing to some viewers.
  • Zombie Strange's scene includes a close-up of just his eyes, followed by his hand suddenly sticking out.
  • Wanda killing members of the Illuminati may be disturbing for some viewers.
  • Throughout the film, Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch used her dark powers to pursue and terrorise a teenage girl, ultimately trying to sacrifice her.
  • During their arrival at Mount Wundagore, Wanda and Wong face off against giant, monster-like beings. This is especially frightening as they appear suddenly and the music is also intense. We later learn these beings are creatures that worship the Scarlet Witch. Very eerie and creepy overall.
