- A clue of a flash flood especially where ravine acts as a natural drainage basin for anything displaced by said flood - dried mud creates a waterline on the rocks right there
- When dealing with a Gunshot Wound (GSW) - stop the bleeding and dress the wound, apply pressure pack the wound and wrap it tight.
- Yarrow is a white flower, grows in clusters and can be used to dress wounds

- A campfire must be ringed by stones to prevent it from spreading beyond its ignition point
- Leaving cigarette butts behind is a fire hazard, also a violation of the "leave no trace behind" rule
- Camped on a Valley - leaves one vulnerable to flash flooding
- Cotton - "Cotton Kills", gets wet and stays wet, leaves one vulnerable to hypothermia every time it rains; wear nylon and wool head to toe
- Chamaenerion Angustifolium (fireweed) perfect tinder for damp wood
- Add bigger sticks to keep fire roaring
- Inhaling burning oil of poison oak leaf does bad things to the lungs
