- After the death of her father Matej Mia stays alone with father's partner Luka. Though they both want to stay together Mia is underage and the law, the relatives and society don't recognize them as a family.
- After death of his wife Matej raises his daughter alone and when he finds a male partner Luka they form an unofficial family. They keep their partnership secret not to disturb Matej's relatives who don't live in the same town and during their rare visits Luka can stay hidden. However, Matej suddenly dies and Luka as a complete stranger that suddenly appears can't be imagined as a foster parent to Mia's maternal grandparents, while Matej's mother forbids Luka to join the family on a funeral. However, Matej's mother lives in Germany and doesn't care for Mia's future, while Mia's grandparents demand their custody for her. This situation isn't regulated in existing legislative, and when both Luka and Mia satisfy social workers criteria pleading to be left together the first instance decision is in their favor. However, Mia's mid-teen age isn't always easy to handle and Luka's effort to keep the family under control can be misunderstood by malicious person who give new arguments to the grandparents that a not willing to give up their battle.—przgzr
