Off with a bang!
What a kick off this was!
This episode covers so many aspects and envokes so many emotions and raw feelings it literally makes the viewer question their own perspectives.
A sings a song of betrayal to ones self. The complexities of emotion accrue a lexicon of hypocrisies and, not self-righteousness, but perhaps bitterness, jealousy and selfishness.
As only the one in power can truly claim self-righteousness; for better or for worse. It is that statement there that tests your loyalty and resolve. Your obedience and your faith. However as it is shown, these are not oft one in the same.
They can exist in tandem but generally on different parallels. This episode delves deep into those, with the writers and directors almost ripping these feelings and emotions out of you begging the question:
Yes, or No?
Perhaps if you are not of the faith, willfully ignorant or simply jaded, you can not comprehend these things, yet you found yourself opinionated none the less. Alas, the viewer, in all one's self righteousness. (Right?)
The storyline here could have continued for an entire season, had this show been of a different nature. It was done marvelously, from a simple entertainment persepctive.
How many sighs of relief were taken at its end? How many cries of woe simultaneously?
How many simply just said: "Oh Shhhh..."?
Either way, you were entertained. Great first episode.
I don't usually give these ratings on an episode, rather the entire series but I feel this deserves one, so:
Entertainment Value 10/10 Overall Rating 10/10.
Can't wait to see the rest of the series.
