Normally I'm a big fan of Joe's comedy, but I wasn't feeling this one.
He starts out with typical anti-Trump jokes (which we've all heard 100x before), then anti-Hillary, then anti-government. It's cool. It's just comedy. But it's not new material.
The rest of his performance is a mix between examples of how life is bizarre, how weed is getting legalized, imitations of women, and overdrawn apologies about how he didn't want to offend anyone. It misses the mark, and we've heard this all before, especially from Joe. If you listen to his podcasts, he talks about this stuff incessantly.
There were some funny moments because of Joe's expressive nature, but I feel like I couldn't relate to this performance at all. In my opinion, some of his best work isn't when he's critiquing how bizarre things are to him, but when his comedy is bizarre. No one thinks covering up your nipples is strange. No one thinks women giving birth is either. This Netflix special is like a rehash from both his "Talking Monkeys in Space" and "Triggered" material.
