Very approprate topic
richtreff2 December 2019
Back in the 60's we had required reading - "A Study in Tyranny" by Bullock, besides "1984", "Brave New World", "Mario and the Magician" and "Animal Farm"

I was impressed how you captured the relevance to today's political quagmire at home and abroad..

How we must learn from these past disasters!

The parallle;s are very upsetting.

"Democracy is fragile"

Rick Steves' Europe (TV Series) The Story of Fascism in Europe (2018) was cowritten by the host, travel expert Rick Steves.

Rick Steves has flown all over the world to produce his travel series. However, this is not an ordinary one-half hour travel program. For this film he's produced a one-hour documentary about the rise of Fascism. The movie is about 20th Century Europe, so most of the screen time depicts the horrible story of Mussolini and Hitler.

We hear Steves' all-important message--democracy is fragile.

We saw this documentary as part of the DVD set Rick Steves' Europe, 2019-2020. It's also available on YouTube.

The Story of Fascism has a very strong IMDb rating of 7.9. I thought it was even better than that, and rated it 10.

The rise of socialism begets The Story of Fascism in Europe
evony-jwm13 September 2022
While this episode tells of the horrors of Fascism it totally fails about it's alternate title "The Rise of Fascism" this is because of the leftist leanings of the authors, producers, et al.

The rise of socialism begot as in literally birthed the rise of fascism. ( Hint everytime ). Just like socialism begot the horrors of the French Revolution, the worldwide great depression, WW1, the commies, the horrors of the Russian revolution. The bolsheviks, the Soviet..

And every totalitarian dictator such as Venezuela Cuba since delivers the horrors of Fascism. To write or say any different is to dismiss reality.
