Christine and Mandy are shown singing along to 'Da Doo Ron Ron' by the Crystals, which was released in April 1963. But this depicted as happening some time between Johnny Edgecombe's committal hearing for the shooting incident (which took place on 14 December '62) and Yevgeny Ivanov leaving for Moscow, on 22 January '63. The whole story broke with George Wigg's speech in the House of Commons on 21 March '63 - and 'Da Doo Ron Ron' had still not been released at that time. Also the Kinks' 1965 hit 'A Well-Respected Man' is used, but only as anachronistic background music.
