Last year, it was announced that Fighting with My Family co-stars Nick Frost and Lena Headey were going to reunite to work on the serial killer thriller Svalta, which was set to start filming in Finland soon. Well, the movie was shot in Finland and production recently wrapped, but Headey had to drop out of the project due to scheduling issues before it started rolling. Deadline reports that her character ended up being played by Aisling Bea, whose previous credits include This Way Up, Living with Yourself, and Home Sweet Home Alone.
Svalta was directed by Steffen Haars (New Kids Turbo) from a screenplay Frost wrote himself. The story follows a family on their summer vacation to a remote island where they discover a serial killer is on the loose. Unfortunately for them, the locals have no interest in helping the stranded family. The title is taken from the name of the fictional island.

Warning: Mild spoilers ahead for “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”
The multiversal door has been kicked open in the MCU, and Kang the Conqueror isn’t the only one with a bunch of variants to worry about. In “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” Scott Lang also finds himself in a room full of, well, himself. And according to Paul Rudd, it was singlehandedly “the most complex thing” he’s ever had to do.
Thanks to a few brief shots in the early trailers for the film, we knew that Scott Lang would eventually come face to face with himself, and a giant version of himself and, somehow, a pile of himself. None of it really made any sense, but that’s to be expected with the Quantum Realm. But now, we know.
As part of his efforts to escape the Quantum Realm, Scott shrinks even smaller, and finds himself in...

‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ Star Paul Rudd Talks His Most Challenging Marvel Sequence So Far
Paul Rudd is about to have a week he’ll never forget.
On Sunday, his beloved Kansas City Chiefs are taking on the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl Lvii, an event that will include his own Heineken 0.0 commercial featuring Scott Lang/Ant-Man. And then late next week, his third dedicated MCU movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, opens in theaters around the world.
Director Peyton Reed’s latest installment also contains Rudd’s most challenging Marvel sequence to date, as he had to perform alongside many different versions of Scott Lang/Ant-Man in order to achieve a critical objective. The set piece is somewhat reminiscent of Rudd’s 2019 series, Living With Yourself, in which he acted beside his character’s clone, and that past experience proved to be quite helpful on the Quantumania set.
“There were so many other technical considerations that it took weeks to shoot that entire sequence.

Few producers have the staying power of Anthony Bregman. From his early 1990s start as an assistant at Good Machine, he rode the wave of an independent film boom, producing “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” “Foxcatcher,” “Enough Said” and other acclaimed features. After co-founding This Is That with Ted Hope and Anne Carey in 2002, he formed Likely Story with Stefanie Azpiazu in 2006, establishing ongoing partnerships with auteurs like Nicole Holofcener, John Carney and Charlie Kaufman.

I have to admit that I was thoroughly disappointed with the ‘squirrel games’ acting channel on last week’s episode and to be honest it was not down to the queen’s performances themselves. While the queens did seem to struggle during the rehearsal process, their individual performances were mostly entertaining but the biggest problem I had with the challenges was the script itself. I don’t know who writes these challenges but the entire sketch was crammed full of random pop culture moments that did not really make sense in the overall narrative. We saw characters inspired by Bear Grylls, Kim Woodburn and Ashley and Pudsey from Britain’s Got Talent in a Big Brother-style competition run by a killer squirrel that hosted murderous Squid Games-style challenges. On top of this, there was also dialogue that paid homage to viral videos, Drag Race references and many other pop culture phenomena.

Paul Rudd will be in Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building” Season 3 after appearing in a surprise cameo role in Tuesday’s Season 2 finale.
In the finale (spoiler alert!), Rudd appears in a flash forward (a year later), as Ben, a snobbish leading actor in Oliver’s (Martin Short) seemingly triumphant return to directing on Broadway. He and Charles exchange less-than-pleasantries in a sinister and vague chat, and as he makes his opening monologue, he literally croaks onstage and dies.

Exclusive: Rock star and four-time Grammy award winner Lenny Kravitz is set to co-star opposite Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel in the Lionsgate action-comedy, Shotgun Wedding. Cheech Marin, Emmy nominee D’Arcy Carden, Selena Tan, Desmin Borges, and Alex Mallari have also signed on for the film, which is being directed by Jason Moore.
Mark Hammer and Liz Meriwether penned the screenplay. In the film, Grace (Lopez) and Tom (Duhamel) gather their lovable but very opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding just as the couple begins to get cold feet. And if that wasn’t enough of a threat to the celebration, suddenly everyone’s lives are in danger when the entire party is taken hostage. “Til Death Do Us Part” takes on a whole new meaning in this hilarious, adrenaline-fueled adventure as Grace and Tom must save their loved ones — if they don’t kill each other first.

Ramy Youssef surprised many of us by winning the 2020 Golden Globe for Best TV Comedy Actor for his Hulu series “Ramy.” He even called us out for our odds, which predicted that he would lose (our bad!). He’s a contender again this year for his show’s second season, so we’d be wise not to underestimate him again, but it has been a decade since an actor went back-to-back in this category.
See‘Ted Lasso’ surges in Golden Globe race for comedy series
Only seven actors have ever won this Golden Globe more than once: Alan Alda for “M*A*S*H”, Henry Winkler for “Happy Days” (1977-1978), Bill Cosby for “The Cosby Show” (1985-1986) Michael J. It must not be an easy feat to play your own twin, but a surprising amount of actors have done it. From Lindsay Lohan in “The Parent Trap” to Paul Rudd in Netflix’s “Living With Yourself” to Mark Ruffalo in HBO’s new series “I Know This Much Is True” here are 19 stars who have played their own twins, clones, and even split-personalities on TV and in movies.
Lindsay Lohan – “The Parent Trap,” “I Know Who Killed Me” Pretty much everyone is familiar with Lohan’s iconic role in ‘The Parent Trap’ remake, but few are familiar with her much more grown-up, darker role in this 2007 psychological thriller in which her she plays two very different versions of a girl named Aubrey Fleming.
Mark Ruffalo – “I Know This Much Is True” He plays twins Dominick and Thomas Birdsey in the HBO series, the latter of whom is schizophrenic.

When TV academy voters sit down to fill out their 2020 Emmy nominations ballots, they have to consider a whopping 111 shows for Best Comedy Series; this is up by three contenders from last year. Luckily they don’t have to limit their choices to just 10 shows. The Emmys did away with that restriction in 2017. Now, the TV academy tells its members to “Vote for as many achievements in this category that you have seen and feel are worthy of a nomination.”

Chris Evans and Paul Rudd stepped out of the Marvel universe and into the world of streaming television this year. On the Apple TV Plus limited series “Defending Jacob,” Evans inhabits the guilt and fear of a suburban district attorney who will stop at nothing to save his teenage son from what he believes to be a wrongful murder charge. And Rudd goes much bigger than Ant-Man in Netflix’s “Living With Yourself,” playing both a dour copywriter and his charming clone. They talked to each other over video chat for Variety’s Actors on Actors issue.

Many of the best-known science-fiction comedies are parodies. Such films as “Spaceballs,” “Galaxy Quest” and “Mars Attacks!” work by skewering the genre. They are not really of the genre.
But since at least 1978, when Douglas Adams’ “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” premiered as a BBC radio drama, there has been a separate tradition of comedies in major media that are rooted in character as well as the ideas, language and aesthetics of science fiction — similar to the best sci-fi dramas.
“Great comedy can be about ideas, as well as jokes,” says “Avenue 5” creator Armando Iannucci. “You can have fun with both.”

While it won’t be for a third “Anchorman” movie — at least, not as of yet — Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd will be back together again. Only this time around, it will be on the small screen, with Mrc Television’s dark comedy limited series “The Shrink Next Door.”
Based on the 2019 Wondery and Bloomberg Media podcast of the same name — which was inspired by true events — “The Shrink Next Door” focuses on the bizarre relationship between a psychiatrist to the stars, Dr. Isaac “Ike” Herschkopf, and his longterm patient, Martin “Marty” Markowitz. What starts as a normal doctor-patient dynamic slowly turns into the all-too-charming Ike (Rudd) taking over Marty’s (Ferrell) life. From moving into Marty’s home to take over his family business, “The Shrink Next Door” is a tale of dysfunction and manipulation.
Though both men are more known for their film work, Rudd recently starred on...

Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd are getting back together for the Mrc Television limited series The Shrink Next Door which is based on the 2019 No. 1 new Wondery and Bloomberg Media podcast. The last time the duo starred together was in 2013’s Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
Also inspired by true events, The Shrink Next Door is a dark comedy following the bizarre relationship between psychiatrist to the stars Dr. Isaac “Ike” Herschkopf played by Rudd, and his longtime patient Martin “Marty” Markowitz, played by Ferrell. Over the course of their relationship, the all-too-charming Ike slowly takes over Marty’s life, even moving into Marty’s home and taking over his family business. The series explores how a seemingly normal doctor-patient dynamic morphs into an unprecedentedly exploitative one filled with manipulation, power grabs, and dysfunction at its finest.

Paul Rudd and Will Ferrell are reuniting to star in a series adaptation of the Wondery and Bloomberg Media podcast “The Shrink Next Door,” Variety has learned. The series is in development at Media Rights Capital (Mrc) Television with no network or streaming service currently attached.
Inspired by true events, “The Shrink Next Door” is described as a dark comedy following the bizarre relationship between psychiatrist to the stars Dr. Isaac “Ike” Herschkopf (Rudd) and his longtime patient Martin “Marty” Markowitz (Ferrell). Over the course of their relationship, Ike slowly takes over Marty’s life, even moving into Marty’s home and taking over his family business.
Should the project move forward, it would mark Ferrell and Rudd’s first onscreen collaboration since “Anchorman 2” in 2013, which was of course a sequel to the seminal 2004 comedy “Anchorman.” Both men will also executive produce “The Shrink Next Door” in addition to starring.
