A hip fracture is not typically repaired using an ORIF. An Open Reduction with Internal Fixation is usually performed on long bones, not joints. A hip fracture almost always requires the replacement of the ball and socket. And those are fixation devices. Bolts, pins, screws, plates are typically what are used to hold bones together and in place while they heal.
Repair of hip fracture is typically called "hip replacement" or "hip pinning".
During the birth scene, it was obvious that the baby did not have an umbilical cord attached. There was a shot of the belly button which was completely healed.
In the delivery scene, the baby switches and has various amounts of hair.
