Yet another disappointing Riley vehicle
The 2-DVD set "Being Riley" was apparently not enough, so Adam & Eve issued its own tribute to the young superstar, flat as a pancake (the DVD, not to impugn RR's natural bazooms). The team of Jay & Jeff Allan strike out as filmmakers.
With Riley narrating, it tells a very dull non-story of her moving to L.A. to become a fashion magazine photographer. Oddly enough, there is hardly any on-set photo shoots or other demonstrations of her character's craft, merely a succession of lengthy sex scenes, with lesbian sex emphasized, interspersed with some touristy location visuals.
Charlotte Stokely is excellent as always as a glamorous lesbian partner, while Jenna Sativa is miscast as Riley's boss, way too young and hardly mean enough for such a role (imagine her as the boss on TV's "Supergirl"!). Nothing much happens and the sex scenes are way overlong.
I found it astonishing that the brass at A&E didn't realize the folly of the title. It's meant to be a pun on the character's profession as a shutterbug, but inevitably conjures up the actual fact that a surprise Number One star in porn status for diminutive Riley was accompanied by the inevitable "grind 'em out" Adult Industry mistake of cashing in on her success with hundreds of quickie all-sex assignments, none of which add to her star's luster.
