Exclusive: Bollywood star Suniel Shetty, who has more than 100 film credits to his name, will make his debut web series with noir action thriller series Invisible Woman.
The project comes from Yoodlee Films, which has been making a name for itself in the Ott space with feature films such as the Netflix hits Axone and Chaman Bahaar. The company said it is eyeing further work in the web series space.
Invisible Woman will star Shetty alongside Esha Gupta. Tamil director Rajesh M. Selva will helm the series. It follows the story of a cop who gets a chance to clean up his past when falsely implicated for the murder of an old woman, but his path to redemption of the soul is littered with physical pain.
“A web series today must have something to set it apart from the barrage of narratives that already exist, and the story of Invisible Woman immediately captured my attention.

Mumbai-based Yoodlee Films has resumed production on two of its features – rom-com Comedy Couple and horror comedy Zombivali.
Comedy Couple stars Saqib Salim and Shweta Basu Prasad and is directed by Nachiket Samant. Marathi-language Zombivali is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and stars Amey Wagh, Lalit Prabhakar and Vaidehi Parshuram.
The producers, who spoke to Deadline recently about the ongoing coronavirus-related challenges in the country, say they are employing numerous virus-related safety measures to get back to work. These include having a Covid officer on set to ensure that strict hygiene and sanitization stipulations are followed.
“We have employed specialized personnel on the sets who are responsible that all health and safety measures are followed to the ‘T’ by everyone. Though we have masks, face shields, and sanitization tunnels in place, these Covid officers will reinforce our safety efforts. Covid is a reality we are all grappling with, but the show must go on,...

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in India crossed one million today, meaning the country now has the third highest infection rate in the world behind only Brazil and the U.S.. That compounded news earlier this week that Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, and his family, had tested positive for the virus and were being admitted to hospital for treatment.
The headlines paint a depressing picture but the country’s film and TV executives remain optimistic that its gargantuan screen industry will evolve, adapt and overcome the challenges in front of it. Deadline has tracked the situation in the country over the past weeks through interviews with high-profile film professionals including Boney Kapoor, Vikram Malhotra, Abhishek Bachchan and Siddharth Roy Kapur, all of whom have been soldiering on despite the near-complete production shutdown and ongoing cinema closures.
