Earlier this year, it was revealed that frequent collaborators Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan – who have worked on Fruitvale Station, Creed, Black Panther, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever together as director and cast member, and have other collaborations that Coogler didn’t direct – have been developing a new project in secret. Coogler has written the script for this project, which is being described as both a genre picture and a period piece that Coogler will be directing and Jordan is attached to star in. The project is set up at Warner Bros., is expected to have a budget of around $90 million, and is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 7, 2025. We still don’t know exactly what this movie is going to be about… but Deadline reports that Jack O’Connell is in talks to play the villain in it.

Based on the Texas Monthly article “Just Desserts” by Katy Vine, who will serve as a consultant, the 2016 Black List screenplay is written by Trey Selman and produced by Red Sanders at Texas-based Red Entertainment along with Trey Selman.

Ah Hollywood. The evil temptress where talent often overshadows any sort of character flaw. Many people claim it to be a new development with the advent of social media, where a person tweets out something dumb ten years ago only to have it brought back up when they have a new Netflix movie dropping. But actually, celebrities have seen their careers implode long before people posted pictures of their dinners online for the world to see. Think back to the story of Roscoe “Fatty” Arbuckle, one of the highest-paid silent film stars of the era whose talent and fame were overshadowed when a woman was assaulted and subsequently died at a party hosted by the famed comedian. Arbuckle was acquitted of the crimes, but his career never recovered. We have never seen a career implosion like we witnessed in 2023 when an emerging talent had a genuine break-out year that was...

Jonathan Majors Career Timeline In A Glimpse(Photo Credit –IMDb)
Jonathan Majors has gained much recognition for his role as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He started his career on the small screen and is now associated with one of the highest-grossing studios. However, his professional life has taken a hit with the assault charges against him, and the trial is underway; let us look at his career timeline from When We Rise to Creed III and Loki 2.
The actor was born in California and studied at Duncanville High School. He was so inspired by Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, especially by Heath Ledger’s Joker, that he joined the theatres. He then went to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts to get his bachelor’s degree and earned his Master of Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama in 2016.

Jonathan Majors may have just gotten a break as far as his reputation goes, as Grace Jabbari – the woman who accused him of assault and harassment back in March – was arrested for “suspicion of misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor criminal mischief”, according to The New York Times.
Grace Jabbari’s arrest was a result of a counterclaim from Jonathan Majors, who alleged that she was actually the one who assaulted him. However, Jabbari was not prosecuted and was released. She will, however, have to appear in court at a later date. Despite no prosecution, one does wonder how the public perception of Majors may change. It wouldn’t be much of a surprise if there is indeed a shift; just as many declared Majors guilty immediately after his arrest – his talent agency dropped him the month after – there will most certainly be people that point to Jabbari’s arrest and pin her as the guilty one.

Few experiences in rock compare with seeing Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in New Jersey. That’s why fans from all over the globe descended on East Rutherford’s MetLife Stadium on Aug. 30, Sept. 1, and Sept. 3. Anticipation ran high because seven years ago they delivered some of the most memorable nights in history of the band at the same venue, culminating with a four-hour extravaganza that spotlighted Springsteen’s first three albums.
At that point in time, Springsteen was still grabbing signs from the audience and playing “Stump The Band.

As of late, Bruce Springsteen has received some criticism from fans for sticking to a rigid setlist during the E Street Band’s ongoing world tour. No one who attended The Boss’ hometown show in E. Rutherford, NJ on Sunday left complaining though; Springsteen deviated from the tour’s traditional setlist by subbing in seven fan favorites.
Over the course of 28-song performance, Springsteen and E Street Band treated fans to renditions of “Two Hearts,” Something in the Night,” “Spirit in the Night,” “Atlantic City,” “Jungleland,” “Detroit Medley,” and “Jersey Girl.”
All told, it made for easily the best setlist of the tour. The second half of the show was particularly epic, as the band finished the main set with “The Rising,” “Badlands,” and “Thunder Road,” and followed that up with a seven-song encore featuring “Jungleland,” “Born to Run,” “Rosalita (Come Out Tonight),” “Detroit Medley,” “Dancing in the Dark,” “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out,...

After a two-hour-plus main set that slammed home themes of mortality and impermanence and the way of all flesh, Bruce Springsteen reemerged on Madison Square Garden’s stage Saturday night, April 1, for his usual lengthy encore, and announced “something special for New York City.” He pointed over at Soozie Tyrell, who began a dead-on recreation of one of rock’s few canonical violin melodies, over piano from all-time-great arpeggio purveyor Roy Bittan. They eased the E Street Band into the 11-minute-long, 48-year-old mini-rock-opera “Jungleland,” played and sung with enough muscle...

For Hunnam, the experience was akin to going through a real-life grieving process, which only added to the emotional strain of saying goodbye to a beloved character.

Jonathan Majors is currently one of the hottest actors today. Majors joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Phase 4 as the next “big bad,” Kang the Conqueror. However, he has been in other productions before, and his notoriety grows with every project. The actor has a quirky trait involving holding a cup wherever he goes, even on red carpets. Majors reveals how his mother’s advice inspired this strange habit.
Jonathan Majors has had a rapid rise to the top
Majors’ first role was in the eight-part docuseries When We Rise. The actor landed the part while still at the Yale School of Drama, playing real-life gay activist Ken Jones. Majors met Jones to learn more about him before bringing his story to the screen. He also appeared in the revisionist Western Hostiles, which debuted in 2017.

While the other streaming services set up recurring franchises, Hulu has opted to get a bit more experimental with its original offerings in August 2021.
Hulu’s list of new releases this month is highlighted by three original series concepts with promise. Reservation Dogs premieres on August 9. Co-created by Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), this story will follow four indigenous teenagers in Oklahoma as they stave off boredom and adulthood. Next up is Nine Perfect Strangers on August 18. This miniseries, based on a book of the same name, is produced by David E. Kelley and features staggering cast of Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Luke Evans, Samara Weaving, and more.
Only Murders in the Building is likely the biggest thing to look forward to in August though. Premiering on August 31, this comedy stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez as three true crime-obsessed friends who stumble into a true crime of their own.

Jessica Barden began her professional career at a young age, shooting an episode of “My Parents Are Aliens” when she was only 7. At the time, she was just having fun. “I was just a showoff, I wasn’t good at acting in any way,” the British actor reveals. It wasn’t until she was 17 and had a role in Stephen Frears’ 2010 film “Tamara Drewe” that she knew she was hooked. “He’s a director for actors, through and through. I don’t know a single person that has worked for him that didn’t have the best time with him,’ she notes. “He didn’t speak to me like I was a child. He spoke to me like I was an adult, he asked me what I thought about the scenes as we were shooting. And I realized I wanted to do this for the rest of my life.”

Training Day’s “King Kong” monologue stands tall among the great speeches of cinema. Denzel Washington elevates the iambic pentameter of Iago, the villain of William Shakespeare’s Othello, to syncopated street rhythms. It is on par with Marlon Brando’s reflections on the horrors of war as Col. Kurtz in Apocalypse Now, it is the inverse of Gregory Peck’s monologues as Atticus Finch in To Kill A Mockingbird, and it ranks with Joe Pesci’s “Do you think I’m funny?” scene in Goodfellas or Groucho Marx’s breakdown in the middle of reconciliation in Duck Soup. But the single line of dialogue which hits it home wasn’t in David Ayer’s screenplay. It was pure Denzel.
“King Kong ain’t got shit on me,” LAPD Det. Sgt. Alonzo Harris declares in the most memorable scene in Training Day. Washington improvised the line in the heat of the moment.

IFC Films has acquired “Holler,” a drama about a woman who joins a dangerous scrap metal crew in order to pay for her college education.
The deal is for North American right. IFC will release the film in June 2021. “Holler” received critical claim both for Nicole Riegel’s work behind the camera and for the lead performance of Jessica Barden. Variety’s Peter Debruge praised the movie’s grit, writing, “‘Holler’ is honest, which is not always what people want from movies, but it isn’t your typical poverty porn. Riegel avoids the melodramatic gimmicks that tellers of such working-class stories love to pull, trusting that audiences understand that the only happy ending — the only hopeful ending — is one that sees Ruth on her way out of Jackson.”

Jungleland is a brilliant new drama about lost souls, always on the run. To mark the film’s release – this coming Monday, November 30th, we spoke to the director of the piece, Max Winkler, paired with the brilliantly charismatic Jessica Barden, who takes on one of the leads within this gritty production.
We speak about the two protagonists Charlie Hunnam and Jack O’Connell, and we go down something of a tangent, speaking about the brilliance of Leeds United manager Marco Bielsa, and we ask Barden – as a Yorkshire lass born and bred – whether she can get a good brew on set in America.
Watch the full interview with Jessica and Max here:
Synopsis
When a devastating loss in the ring leaves Lion and his manager/brother Stan in debt to a local crime boss, they are forced to risk it all in a bare-knuckle boxing tournament as the pair fight for a better life.

Stars: Charlie Hunnam, Jack O’Connell, Jessica Barden | Written by Max Winkler, Theodore Bressman | Directed by Max Winkler
Being a big fan of movies like Rocky, Warrior, The Fighter and, well, any movie that centers around boxing but is way more about the heart of the characters involved, I am always quick to watch the next one that comes along. The good thing being you don’t have to wait long and every now and then a special one comes along.
Jungleland was an absolute no brainier for me for two simple reasons. The actors. Jack O’Connell is easily the most underrated British actor working today; this guy is yet to put in a bad performance, he’s not always in the best movies but usually the best thing in them. Charlie Hunnam, meanwhile, is a local North East of England lad that somehow broke into the acting game and...

A lot of filmmakers point to the New Hollywood movies of the 1970s as influences, but few directors have internalized and applied the lessons of the era as effectively as Max Winkler, whose new feature Jungleland recalls seminal studies of masculinity in crisis like John Huston’s Fat City and Hal Ashby’s The Last Detail. The movie follows bare-knuckle brawler Lion (Jack O’Connell) and his older brother Stanley (Charlie Hunnam), broke siblings looking for a way out of their desperate circumstances. They think they’ve found it when a local underworld figure offers to clear their debts if they chaperone a young […]

It’s clear from pretty early on in “Jungleland” that Stanley isn’t a great guy. He has nothing but love for his brother, Lion, but Stanley is just a skeezy guy that will rob Peter to pay Paul and will get in deep with some bad guys if it means moving ahead in his life and the life of his boxing prodigy brother.

Charlie Hunnam is the most interesting of movie stars. His latest, Jungleland, stars the British thespian as one half of a brotherly duo that are a literal one-two punch.
Stanley (Hunnam) trains, manages, and does everything he can for his bare-knuckled boxing brother, known as Lion (Jack O’Connell).
When Stanley gets into a bit of gambling trouble, he is given a task by the man holding the debt, Pepper (Jonathan Majors of Lovecraft Country). Lion and his older brother must take Sky, who they believe may be a prostitute, to Reno.
In the Nevada city awaits Yates (John Cullum), who believes Sky is his property. Yeah, not the nicest guy.
Not only do Lion and Stanley have the opportunity to erase the latter’s debt, but Pepper has promised Lion a spot on the card of an epic (and titular) Oakland-based boxing tourney after they drop off Sky in the...

As if sensing that the election would provide enough nail-biting excitement to last Americans for days, distributors have largely backed off the first weekend in November.
Focus Features is releasing a solid Kevin Costner-Diane Lane thriller with serious Red State appeal in “Let Him Go,” for those with access to theaters, and there are a number of backlogged festival movies picking this weekend to open: the best of them is “Proxima,” featuring Eva Green as a French astronaut preparing to leave her son behind for her first trip to space, though Toronto 2019 premiere “Jungleland” and Sundance oddity “Koko-di Koko-da” are solid options as well.
Genre fans have a few options, ranging from “Triggered” (a “Battle Royale”-esque survival game in which old friends must kill one another to survive) to “The Informer,” a movie that opened in theaters abroad way back in 2019, but brings some excitement to a tame frame.

Max Winkler’s “Jungleland” is a throwback to the kind of character-driven, road movies that Hollywood hasn’t made much since the glory days of the 1970s moviemaking.
It’s the story of two drifter brothers who are so desperate to escape their dead-end lives that they accept an offer to ferry a young woman (Jessica Barden) across the country to a degenerate criminal. The film, which opens Friday, stars Jack O’Connell as Walter “Lion” Kaminsky, a bare-knuckle boxer, and Charlie Hunnam as Stanley Kaminsky, his corner-man and manager, who is better at plunging the family into debt than scoring big paydays.
On the eve of the film’s release, Winkler spoke to Variety about the movies that inspired “Jungleland,” why “King Arthur” convinced him to cast Hunnam as the down-and-out Stanley, and his go-for-broke effort to score the rights to a Bruce Springsteen song.

“No Time to Die” was just the first domino to fall. When the 25th James Bond movie moved from its release in November and prompted Cineworld to announce the “temporary suspension” of over 600 locations in the U.S. and the U.K., it begged the question, just which films are still slated to open in theaters in 2020?
Honestly, not a ton, and the goalposts are moving so quickly that TheWrap just reported the sci-fi epic “Dune” from Warner Bros. would also no longer open on December 18 as planned.

Bruce Springsteen’s “Jungleland” isn’t actually heard at any point in Max Winkler’s hardscrabble new boxing drama of the same name (even if the Boss still manages to carry most of the emotional payload in the film’s stirring final scene), but simply referencing that epic song about the inescapable beauty of blue-collar life is enough to set the tone. This isn’t just a movie about the sort of hardscrabble Americans who dream themselves to death every day in this country, it’s also — at least to some extent — a swift and punchy Springsteenian meditation on the mythic nature of those dreams, and how they can harden into cliché if left dangling in the night air for too long.

A year ago, people swore that Idris Elba was the next James Bond. Now, it’s Tom Hardy that is definitely, maybe, probably going to take over for Daniel Craig as the suave superspy. But since we’re throwing names out there, what about Charlie Hunnam, the star of the new drama, “Jungleland?” Well, according to the actor, he’s down to play Bond (and who wouldn’t be?) but he doesn’t think people should bet money on him inheriting the coveted role.

We haven’t even seen Daniel Craig’s last outing as 007 in No Time To Die yet, but regardless, all anyone wants to talk about is who’s going to be taking over from him as James Bond. So many names have been thrown into the hat as the race has heated up in recent months. Essentially, any English actor in their 30s or 40s has been suggested as a good fit for the iconic role and that includes Sons of Anarchy and King Arthur star Charlie Hunnam.
The actor has now addressed the chatter linking him to Bond in a new interview with People while promoting his latest movie, Jungleland. Just as you’d expect, he revealed that he would “100%” be down to play the part of the super secret agent, though he doubts that he’s going to be the top choice to succeed Craig.

Charlie Hunnam has endorsed Tom Hardy as the next James Bond while disclosing that he'd love to play the role himself if offered.
The 40-year-old 'Sons of Anarchy' star revealed that he would be honoured to take over as James Bond after Daniel Craig's final outing as the legendary cinematic super-spy in 'No Time To Die'.
While speaking to People ahead of the release of his new film 'Jungleland,' Hunnam opened up about future roles that he is interested to play and the possibility of playing 007.
Asked if he would ever be open to playing Bond someday, Charlie Hunnam said, "100 percent."
"I would be so flattered and honored to be considered to play James Bond as an Englishman," he added. "But my intuition tells me that I shouldn't be waiting for that phone call to come. I think there are many people ahead of me on that list.

Director Max Winkler (who co-wrote with Theodore Bressman and David Branson Smith) opens his latest film Jungleland with a great reveal. We meet Stanley (Charlie Hunnam) as he wakes his younger brother Lion (Jack O’Connell) up, staring out the window with a huge grin on his face. He’s talking about the future and how it’s paved with gold. California is in sights, boxing stardom is in reach, and all they have to do is win this fight. So Lion gets out of bed, does some training, and readies to make their dreams come true with his fists. But instead of watching them exit their home, hotel room, or wherever, Winkler moves the camera outside a repossessed building’s door so the Kaminsky siblings can lower themselves out a window.

Charlie Hunnam has definitely been sticking around in a big way since he’s been in several movies at this point that might not have always been the most popular of the bunch, but have been quite as noticeable. This time around he might be seen as someone that means well but isn’t entirely as efficient as he could be, since the world of bare-knuckle boxing is one that should be kind of obvious when it comes to being sketchy. One could probably guess that it’s going to be coming to video on demand, but it should be available in early

A new trailer has dropped for drama ‘Jungleland’ featuring Charlie Hunnam and Jack O’Connell.
Stanley (Hunnam) and Lion (O’Connell) are two brothers struggling to stay relevant in the underground world of bare-knuckle boxing. When Stanley fails to pay back a dangerous crime boss (Majors), they’re forced to deliver an unexpected traveller as they journey across the country for a high stake fighting tournament.
While Stanley trains Lion for the fight of his life, a series of events threaten to tear the brothers apart. Their love for one another and belief in a better life shines through, even as the film scored strong reviews for the fact this isn’t a feel-good “Rocky” like story and sometimes having a big heart simply isn’t enough.
Directed By Max Winkler the film stars Charlie Hunnam, Jack O’Connell, Jonathan Majors, Jessica Barden.

'Jungleland' trailer is out now and it packs a hell of a wallop.
Paramount Pictures has released the official trailer for the long-awaited bare-knuckle boxing drama 'Jungleland' which was filmed in and around Fall River.
The film stars Charlie Hunnam as Stanley, brother, and trainer of bare-knuckle boxer Lion (played by Jack O’Connell).
'Jungleland' follows the story of the two brothers struggling to stay relevant in the underground world of bare-knuckle boxing. The two travel across the country for one last high-stakes match that becomes a fight for their lives, along with an unexpected companion (Jessica Barden) after failing to pay back a dangerous crime boss (Jonathon Majors).
While Stanley trains Lion for the fight of his life, a series of unexpected events threaten to tear the brothers apart. However, their love for each other and belief in a better life keeps them going.
