I'm starting these Polly Pocket reviews off strong with this doozy of an episode! I've been watching for this for years, but I'm just now reviewing it..? Anyways, there are some issues I have with this first episode. The biggest one being the setup. It looks decent on paper yeah, but the execution just makes it flop hard on its tiny face, especially the forced introduction of Griselle and the locket's history. The jokes are also very weak. However, Polly is (for once) not really on my nerves this episode, and despite the forced discovery of the locket's powers (not to mention this little smarty pants fixing it instantly with Genie... who I have issues with in other episodes where she's just a convenient plot device) and the awkward sequence of her running from the Roomba ripoff. The scenes at the mall with Griselle were also really embarrassingly cheesy and had some weird moments (like the part where she talks to her grandma after she "saves" her, etc). Anyways, this is a bad start for this show that ended up just there in season 4, which is probably the second worst season under 1.
